Now, the other six apart from sexual misconduct are by nature non-manifesting form. Or, when causing others to do it. One becomes two. Sexual misconduct is always by nature manifesting and non-manifesting form, because one has brought it to its ultimate conclusion oneself. If they also do those, then these six paths of action, when one does them oneself, are also of two kinds: manifesting and non-manifesting form. The seven virtues are of two kinds. The precepts taken correctly depend on manifesting form. What arises from samādhi is not manifesting form. That which is gathered by samādhi and the uncontaminated discipline is non-manifesting form because it depends on the mind. The acquisitions are all manifesting form. Or does it become non-manifesting form? It does not. If one engages in activity with strong affliction or with great delight and earnestness, it will become non-manifesting form, otherwise it is not. The opposite is the conclusion. Those are undoubtedly by nature non-manifesting form. Or does it become manifesting form? Or not, if having done a path of action, one then practices a dharma that is in accordance with it, then it will become manifesting form, otherwise it is not. In the sūtra it says: Killing arises from attachment, arises from hatred, and arises from delusion, from there up to wrong view, it is said in that way. Activity arises from the three root afflictions. Among those, the activity that arises from killing is like this: one engages in activity for the sake of a branch of that action, or for the sake of wealth, or for the sake of a peak, and so on. What arises from hatred is like this: one kills in order to certainly arise from resentment. What arises from delusion is like this: for the purpose of performing sacrifices, and so on. Taking what is not given, the activity that arises from attachment is that one who seeks something for a certain purpose steals that thing, or steals for the sake of another's gain, or for the sake of respect or fame, or for the sake of completely protecting oneself or a friend. What arises from hatred is in order to certainly arise from resentment. What arises from delusion is like this:
