Therefore, since it is so established, ignorance, the nature of affliction, will also become the basis or arise from affliction, which has been revealed. Since affliction also arises from the basis touched by aging and death and feeling, there is no need to add anything to this. Furthermore, what is the difference between dependent arising and the dharmas of dependent arising? For the time being, from the perspective of the treatises, there is no difference, because both are said to be all conditioned dharmas. The view of the sutras is: "Here, arising is the cause, and what has arisen is considered the result." Therefore, the limb that has become the cause is dependent arising, because it arises from this. The limb that has become the result is dependently arisen, so all the limbs are established as both. Furthermore, what is the meaning of the term "ignorance"? A dharma that is contrary to knowledge, like ignorance, non-friendliness, falsehood, etc. Just as from the opposite of a friend, there are some non-friends who are contrary to it, but it is not anything other than a friend, nor is it the absence of a friend. Truth is non-deceptive, and those that are contrary to it are untruthful, non-dharma, meaningless, useless, etc. Just as these are contrary to dharma, etc., ignorance should also be regarded as another dharma that is contrary to knowledge. What is this? Because of words like "completely binding," in the sutras it is said that ignorance is completely binding, binding, increasing, etc., and it is not appropriate for it to be merely non-existent. Then, for example, just as a bad wife is called a non-wife, and a bad son is called a non-son, ignorance is also like that. If it is said, "Because of not seeing bad wisdom, if the wisdom that is being disparaged is afflicted, then even so, since it is the nature of seeing, it should not be ignorance." Then, whatever is not the nature of seeing will become that. That is also not reasonable. Why is that? Because it has the same aspect as seeing. If ignorance becomes wisdom, then

Because the nature of wisdom and the nature of affliction are not the same, it is impossible to be the same as that view. For the sake of explaining wisdom and affliction. It can also be established from this that the mind of affliction near to greed cannot be liberated. The wisdom of affliction near to ignorance cannot be cut off. Wisdom itself cannot be the near affliction of wisdom. Furthermore, what is the meaning of name and form? Form is as explained extensively. Name is the skandha without form, the four skandhas such as feeling. The six sense bases have already been explained. Now I will speak of contact, the six contacts. From eye contact to mind contact. Those are also, are born from aggregation. It is born from the aggregation of sense faculty, object, and consciousness. Among those six, five are obstructive contacts. The sixth is a nominal word. The contacts of the eye and so on are obstructive contacts because they rely on the sense faculty with obstruction. Mind contact is called nominal word contact because it is based on nominal words. Again, it itself becomes three types: clear, unclear, and other contacts. Those are also, stainless, afflicted, and remaining. Clear contact is the contact without outflows. Unclear contact is the contact with afflictions, because it is the same as clear and unclear. The remainder is the contact that is neither clear nor unclear because it is not the same as both. That is also wholesome with outflows and obscured and unspecified. Also, mentioning one aspect of unclear contact, contact followed by malice. Because it is the same as being followed by malice. Also, summarizing everything, the three of experiencing pleasure and so on. The contact of experiencing pleasure, the contact of experiencing suffering, and the contact of experiencing neither pleasure nor suffering are also experienced, contact has been explained. Feeling is to be explained, for this, the six types of contact have already been explained, the six feelings arising from that, the feeling arising from eye contact
