There are those arising from action and those arising from similar causes, but sound is not born from fruition, because it arises according to one's own desires. Arising from similar causes and arising from fruition, there are eight unobstructed ones. The seven realms of mind and the realm of phenomena, those produced by equal parts and pervasive causes, are those arising from similar causes. Those produced by the cause of fruition are those born from fruition. The other three, the remaining realms of form, smell, taste, and touch, are those born from fruition, and those arising from growth, and also those arising from similar causes. Substance and co-emergent unconditioned phenomena are substances because they are permanent. Since they also exist in the realm of phenomena, only the realm of phenomena possesses substance. The last three, moments, the last of those, such as the realm of mind, in the assembly of the forbearance of knowing the Dharma in suffering, one moment is not born from a similar cause, therefore it is called a moment. Among them, the mind that corresponds to the forbearance of knowing the Dharma in suffering is the realm of mind and the realm of consciousness. The remaining ones that arise together with them are the realm of phenomena. This should be examined: if one obtains possession of the eye realm from not possessing it, is that also the same as eye consciousness? If one is the same as eye consciousness, is that also the same as the eye realm? It is said: eye and consciousness realms, there are those that are obtained separately and simultaneously. Briefly, separately, there are those that are the eye realm but not the eye consciousness realm, such as gradually obtaining the eye faculty in the desire realm. There are those that are the eye consciousness realm but not the eye realm, such as when one is born in the second dhyana and sees form and manifests eye consciousness. Simultaneously, there are also those who obtain possession of both, such as when one dies and transmigrates from the formless realm and is born in the desire realm and the Brahma realm. Not both refers to situations other than those. How many internal realms are there? How many external realms are there? If asked, there are twelve internal ones, excluding form and so on, which are consciousness.

Six bases and six roots. The eye, etc., are the close support of the mind, therefore they are internal. The mind is the support of self-grasping, therefore it is related to self. The six object realms, such as form, are external. What are the realms with support? What are those that are similar to them? Briefly, dharma is with support. Whatever relies on the support and the supported object and performs its own function is with support. Where is there a dharma realm where infinite mental consciousness has not arisen or will not arise? There is none, therefore the dharma realm is always with support. The rest are also similar to them. The word "also" means also with support. What are those that are similar? Whatever does not perform its own function. Whatever does not perform its own function is said to be with support. Thus, the eye, etc., are the support of one thing, that is, of all; form, etc., are only the object of that, that is, only those with support. Having support is relying on the function of things, they have this, therefore they are with support, or because they touch the result, they are with support. Also, those that are not with support are similar to it because they are of the same kind. What are the realms to be abandoned by seeing? What are the realms to be abandoned by meditation? What are the non-abandonable? Briefly, the ten forms are to be abandoned by meditation. Five are also, that is, the five consciousness realms. The last three have three kinds. Eighty-eight subtle followers, arising together with them, and the attainment of them, are to be abandoned by seeing. The remaining contaminated ones are to be abandoned by meditation. The uncontaminated is not to be abandoned. Individuality, the body of the lower realms, and verbal actions, etc., are also contrary to the noble path, are there no other things to be abandoned by seeing? They are to be abandoned by seeing.

It is not an action, in short, it is like this. Not afflicted, not to be abandoned by seeing, not form, not six, not born. Non-affliction, there is not even a little to be abandoned by seeing, and it is not form. Individuality is not a non-afflictive teaching, because those who have completely cut off the roots of virtue and those who are free from attachment also have it. Actions of body and speech are form. Therefore, they are not to be abandoned by seeing, because there is no wrong conception about the truths. Non-sixth born is what is born from the five senses, and it is not to be abandoned by seeing. What is view? What is non-view? The eye and the part of the dharma realm are views. What are those? It is said: eight kinds. The five views such as the view of the collection of destructible things, as well as the worldly right view, the view of the learner, the view of the non-learner, and the eight kinds of dharma realm, these are views. The rest are not views. Among them, the worldly right view is the wisdom of virtue with outflows that corresponds to consciousness. The view of the learner without outflows is that of the learner. The view of the non-learner is that of the non-learner. Again, why is only that which corresponds to consciousness called worldly right view? It is said like this: The wisdom born together with the five consciousnesses is a view because there is no definite understanding. Discrimination is a view, it is the mind that enters into determination. The wisdom born together with the five consciousnesses is not like that, therefore this is not a view. Therefore, other afflicted or non-afflicted wisdom is also not a view. Then, if the eye itself does not discriminate, why is it not a view? In terms of the meaning of seeing form. Because, the eye sees all forms. If the eye sees all forms, then it should also be able to see with other consciousnesses. Not all eyes can see. So what is it? It is called consciousness with a basis.
