And it is neither suffering, nor is it burning everywhere. With what is it burning everywhere? The fire of desire is burning, the fire of hatred and the fire of ignorance are burning everywhere, and birth and aging and sickness and death and sorrow and lamentation and suffering and discomfort and strife and suffering are burning everywhere, I say. This is the teaching of the Blessed One's subsequent miracles. When this Dharma category was explained, the mind of the monk who had previously been a matted-hair ascetic was completely liberated from defilements without acceptance, it was said. The supreme teaching. For the sake of not being confused and for benefit, etc. This is called. The Blessed One was dwelling in the grove surrounded by the Amra trees of Nalanda. Then, the householder fisherman's son went to where the Blessed One was. Having gone, he bowed to the feet of the Blessed One with his head. He sat down on one side. Having sat down on one side, the householder fisherman's son said these words to the Blessed One. Venerable sir, Nalanda is prosperous and flourishing, with good harvests and filled with beings and many people, and there is much faith in the Blessed One here. It would be good if the Blessed One would allow some of the monks to display miracles that are superior to human Dharma. Brahmins and householders who come and go will see this and most of Nalanda will have faith in the Blessed One. Son of a householder, I say to the monks in this way, you monks, show miracles that are superior to human Dharma to the Brahmins and householders who come, but do not teach the Shravakas. However, in this way, monks, good deeds should be kept secret and sins should be confessed, so he teaches the Shravakas. What fault does the Blessed One see in the miracles that are superior to human Dharma that he teaches the Shravakas in this way, that good deeds should be kept secret and sins should be confessed? Son of a householder, there are three kinds of miracles, what are the three? The miracle of miracles and the miracle of universal proclamation and the miracle of subsequent teaching. Son of a householder,

What is the miracle of psychic power? A householder's son, here, some ascetics or Brahmins experience various realms of psychic power, namely: becoming many from one, and becoming one from many; knowing and experiencing appearing and disappearing. They pass through walls, fences, stones, and mountains without being obstructed by the body, just like a bird in the sky. They also burrow into the ground like a bird, just like in water. They also walk on water without sinking, just like on land. They also travel in the sky in a lotus position, like a winged bird. They can touch and rub the sun and moon, which have great psychic power and strength, with their hands, and even control the body up to the Brahma world. Some ascetics or Brahmins touch and rub the sun and moon in various ways of psychic power, and are seen by faithful householders or householder's sons. After seeing this, they say to the unfaithful householders or householder's sons: 'Know, gentlemen, that I have seen with my own eyes ascetics or Brahmins here who, in various ways of psychic power, become many from one, and touch and rub the sun and moon.' They will say: 'Gentlemen, what is so strange about seeing ascetics or Brahmins here who touch and rub the sun and moon in various ways of psychic power? Gentlemen, there is a mantra called Gandhara If someone masters and holds it, they can touch and rub the sun and moon in various ways of psychic power.' Householder's son, what do you think? In this case, would faithful householders or householder's sons think it necessary to listen to the slander of unfaithful householders or householder's sons? Venerable one, indeed it is so. Householder's son, I have truly seen the faults of this psychic power that transcends human law, and therefore I say to the Shravakas: Monks, good is...

He taught that one should confess and admit sins. Son of a householder, what is the magical power of all speech? Son of a householder, here some ascetics or Brahmins use reason or complete expression to speak of all things. The mind is like this, the mind is like that. What was done before and what was said before are also spoken of in entirety. What was done in secret and what was said in secret are all expressed. Everything that happened in the past, future, and present is also expressed. What is far away is also spoken of in entirety, and what is near is also spoken of in entirety. The mind is also spoken of in entirety, and what arises from the mind is also spoken of in entirety. Whatever is said a little, all of it changes in that way, and not otherwise. Although one does not speak of all things based on reason or complete expression, but after hearing from gods and humans, one speaks of all things, saying, 'The mind is like this,' from 'everything changes in that way' to 'it is not otherwise,' and one does not speak of all things based on reason and complete expression, nor does one speak of all things after hearing from gods and humans, but with complete thought and complete observation, one fully understands the minds of other sentient beings and other individuals with the mind, from 'the mind is like this' to 'as before, everything changes in that way, and it is not otherwise.' Ascetics or Brahmins, from reason or complete expression, speak of all things, saying, 'The mind is like this,' from 'everything changes in that way, and it is not otherwise.' Faithful householders or sons of householders see this, and having seen it, they say to the unfaithful householders or sons of householders, 'Hey, gentlemen, know that here some ascetics or Brahmins, with reason or complete expression, speak of all things, saying, 'The mind is like this,' from 'everything changes in that way' to 'it is not otherwise, I have seen it,' and 'Hey, gentlemen, you, with ascetics or Brahmins, with reason or complete expression, speak of all things, saying, 'The mind is like this,' from 'everything changes in that way' to 'it is not otherwise.'
