Ah, grant it! Likewise, the extensive sutra should be observed until cessation and nirvana. Having known it thus and seen it thus, the mind will be completely liberated from the defilement of desire, and the mind will be completely liberated from the defilements of existence and ignorance. My birth is exhausted. The pure conduct has been taught. What had to be done has been done. It will not be known other than this existence, and one will see liberation and the wisdom of liberation. That very sutra is until cessation and nirvana. Although one may not become completely liberated, nevertheless, through that very aspiration for the Dharma, that very attachment to the Dharma, that very joy in the Dharma, and that very delight in the Dharma, having abandoned the five fetters corresponding to the lower part, one will completely attain nirvana in the intermediate state. Although one may not completely attain nirvana in the intermediate state, one will completely attain nirvana after being born. Although one may not completely attain nirvana after being born, one will completely attain nirvana without exertion. Although one may not completely attain nirvana without exertion, one will completely attain nirvana with exertion. Although one may not completely attain nirvana with exertion, one will transmigrate from higher to higher realms. Although one may not transmigrate to higher realms, nevertheless, through that very aspiration for the Dharma, that very craving for the Dharma, that very joy in the Dharma, and that very intense delight in the Dharma, one will be born equal to the gods of the Great Brahma. Although one may not be born equal to the gods of the Great Brahma, one will be born equal to the gods who are the attendants of Brahma. Although one may not be born equal to the gods who are the attendants of Brahma, one will be born equal to the gods of the Brahma host. Monks, in this case, with what kind of form, what kind of sign, and what kind of characteristic does a monk, having calmed the investigation and analysis, become completely clear within, the continuum of mind becomes one, without investigation and without analysis, having cultivated the second dhyana with joy and bliss born of samadhi, abide in it?

He does not attend to those aspects, those signs, and those characteristics of what has changed, but he attends to the aspects of form, or the aspects of feeling, or the aspects of perception, or the aspects of formations, or the aspects of consciousness, which are the objects of focus there, without departing from those dharmas. He attends to disease, boils, pain, harm, impermanence, suffering, emptiness, and selflessness, and having attended to those dharmas without departing from them, and having attended to disease, boils, pain, harm, impermanence, suffering, emptiness, and selflessness, aversion, fear, and disgust will arise in his mind towards the dharmas. When he is averse, fearful, and disgusted with those dharmas, he will direct his mind towards the realm of immortality, thinking, "This is peaceful, this is excellent, namely, the definite departure from all acquisitions, the exhaustion of craving, detachment, cessation, Nirvana." That sutra goes up to cessation and Nirvana. Knowing and seeing thus, his mind will be liberated from the defilement of desire, and his mind will be liberated from the defilement of existence and the defilement of ignorance, and birth is exhausted, the holy life has been lived, what had to be done has been done, he will not know another existence, and the wisdom of liberation and the liberated will appear. Although he will not be liberated, however, merely by that aspiration for the Dharma, that craving for the Dharma, that joy in the Dharma, and that extreme delight in the Dharma, having abandoned the five fetters that are in accordance with the final part, he will be completely extinguished in the intermediate state. Although he will not be completely extinguished in the intermediate state, however, he will be completely extinguished after being born. Although he will not be completely extinguished after being born, he will be completely extinguished without effort. Although he will not be completely extinguished without effort, he will be completely extinguished with effort. Although he will be completely extinguished with effort
