The actions of two views, the five aggregates, the three paths, and the word of cessation are the tenth. How many branches of Samadhi are there, and how many are the aggregate of formation? There are six questions with feeling, and six kinds of various distinctions. These are called time, and the beginning is in Nyan. Monks, there are three kinds of time. What are the three? The past time, the future time, and the present time. Thus it was declared. The basis of speech and so on, the beginning is in Nyan. Monks, there are three bases of speech, there is no fourth, and there is no fifth. I say, "I have seen thus," and the wise speak and utter words based on the meaning of seeing. I say, "I know thus," and speak and utter words based on the meaning of hearing, distinguishing, and knowing. What are the three? The basis of past speech, the future, and the basis of present speech. What is the basis of past speech? Here, the wise say, "Such a thing happened in the past," and speak and utter words based on the past time, which is called the basis of past time speech. What is the basis of future speech? Here, the wise say, "Such a thing will happen in the future," and speak and utter words based on the future time, which is called the basis of future time speech. What is the basis of present speech? Here, the wise say, "In the present time, there is such a thing," and speak and utter words based on the present time, which is called the basis of present time speech. There are these three kinds of speech bases, there is no fourth, and there is no fifth. Whenever the wise say, "I have seen thus," they speak and utter words based on the meaning of seeing, and "I know thus," they speak and utter words based on the meaning of hearing, distinguishing, and knowing. After the Blessed One declared thus, the Sugata spoke thus, and then the Teacher declared again: The sentient being with the perception to be spoken of, dwells well here. If what is to be spoken of is not fully known, old age and death.

The realm of conduct changes. The speaker knows it completely. Not listening to the speaker, there is no refutation from outsiders for him. Therefore, constant meditative equipoise arises. Without suffering, having seen the limit of birth and old age, monks who have destroyed all the hosts of demons go beyond the shore of birth and death in samsara. Thus it was taught. Regarding what is called "Those with definite emergence," the setting is in Shravasti. There are three kinds of definite emergence: definite emergence from desire, definite emergence from form, and definite emergence from the formless. Whatever is slightly manifested, accumulated, and fabricated, its cessation is called definite emergence. Thus it was taught. Regarding what is called "Which are the contaminated aggregates of clinging?" the setting is in Shravasti. Then, the Blessed One called out to the monks, "Monks, listen well and keep in mind the teachings on the aggregates and the aggregates of clinging, and I will explain them. What are the aggregates? Whatever form is slightly past, future, or present; internal or external; coarse or subtle; inferior or superior; near or far; all of it is gathered together and falls into the category of the aggregate of form. Whatever feeling, perception, mental formation, or consciousness is slightly past, future, or present; internal or external; coarse or subtle; inferior or superior; near or far; all of it is gathered together and falls into the category of the aggregate of consciousness. This is called an aggregate. What are the aggregates of clinging? Whatever desire, attachment, clinging, delight, craving, or manifest clinging there is for past, future, or present form; and whatever desire, attachment, clinging, delight, craving, or manifest clinging there is for past, future, or present feeling, perception, mental formation, or consciousness; this is called an aggregate of clinging. Monks, the aggregates and the aggregates of clinging have been taught as described, and have been well taught." Thus it was taught. This meaning, the bhikkhuni Dharma-giving...
