When thought and examination are nearly pacified, the inner being is completely clear, and the state of mind becomes one, with joy and bliss born from the samadhi without thought and examination, the second dhyana is nearly perfected and dwells. Then, detached from desire from joy, dwelling in equanimity, possessing mindfulness and awareness, the body individually experiences happiness, and it is said to be the equanimity of the noble ones, dwelling in mindfulness and bliss, the third dhyana is nearly perfected and dwells. This is called not developing attachment to pleasant feelings and abandoning them. Holy mother, what is it that does not develop anger towards painful feelings and abandons them? Venerable Saga, in this, the noble hearer develops desire for the supreme liberation of the teacher, and when will I be able to nearly perfect and dwell in that place of birth? When will I nearly perfect and dwell in the place of birth of the noble one, that is, developing desire for the supreme liberation of the teacher, pursuing meaning, completely longing, and being uncomfortable in mind, this is called not developing anger towards painful feelings and abandoning them. When completely transformed, it is happiness. When it is impermanent, it is oppression. Not pleasure, not pain, not understanding the feeling is suffering. When wisdom arises, it is happiness. What is the complete distinction of the feeling of suffering? It is the feeling of happiness. What is the complete distinction of the feeling of happiness and suffering? It is the feeling of neither pleasure nor pain. What is the complete distinction of the feeling of neither pleasure nor pain? It is ignorance. What is the complete distinction of ignorance? It is knowledge. What is the complete distinction of knowledge? It is the venerable Saga Nirvana. Holy mother, What is the complete distinction of Nirvana? Venerable Saga, it is longer than long, and it is not possible to exhaust its boundaries. In the presence of the Blessed One, one should go to Nirvana, and at the end of Nirvana, one should practice the true Brahma-conduct that exhausts suffering. Then, the laywoman Saga rejoiced and believed in what the Bhikshuni Dharma-dana had said. She bowed to the feet of the Bhikshuni Dharma-dana, got up, and left. Not long after the laywoman Saga left, the Bhikshuni Dharma-dana went to where the Blessed One was. Having arrived, she bowed her head to the feet of the Blessed One and sat to one side. Having sat to one side, the Bhikshuni Dharma-dana reported in detail to the Blessed One all the conversations that had taken place with the laywoman Saga. The Blessed One said to the Bhikshuni Dharma-dana: Dharma-dana, well done, well done! If the laywoman Saga were to ask me the same questions, the same words, and the same letters, I would also predict with the same content, words, and letters, just as you have explained. Having said this, the Bhikshuni Dharma-dana rejoiced and was very happy with what the Blessed One had said. The summary here is: With the view of the aggregate of destruction, three questions should be asked.
