当舍弃。 哪些有漏法应以依止而舍弃,则以依止而舍弃。 哪些有漏法应以调伏而舍弃,则以调伏而舍弃。 哪些有漏法应以忍耐而舍弃,则以忍耐而舍弃。 哪些有漏法应以修习而舍弃,则以修习而完全舍弃,此谓比丘从一切漏中善摄其心,断除贪欲及一切系缚,以正智而使痛苦终结。如是宣说。 如此,在名为《分别论》的论典等中,从分别论中生起千问,在《圣谛分别经》中,关于四圣谛的问答中,如是提问:以坏聚见为因,而非坏聚见之因的是什么? 以坏聚见为因,而是坏聚见之因的又是什么? 既以坏聚见为因,又是坏聚见之因的是什么? 既非坏聚见为因,又非坏聚见之因的又是什么? 如此提问并作答: 有二者既非坏聚见之因,又非坏聚见之因。 二者有差别,即痛苦之谛与集谛,既以坏聚见为因,又非坏聚见之因; 既以坏聚见为因,又是坏聚见之因;

Should be abandoned. Those contaminated dharmas that should be abandoned by relying on them are abandoned by relying on them. Those contaminated dharmas that should be abandoned by taming will be abandoned by taming. Those contaminated dharmas that should be abandoned by patience are abandoned by patience. Those contaminated dharmas that should be abandoned by meditation will be completely abandoned by meditation. This is said to be a bhikshu who has well restrained his mind from all defilements, has cut off craving and abandoned all bonds, and will end suffering with correct knowledge. Thus it was taught. Thus, in the treatise called "Vibhanga," etc., from the Vibhanga arises a thousand questions. In the Sutra on the Analysis of the Noble Truths, in the questions and answers on the four noble truths, it is asked: What is the cause of the view of the perishable aggregate, but not the cause of the view of the perishable aggregate? What is the cause of the view of the perishable aggregate, but not the cause of the view of the perishable aggregate? What both is the cause of the view of the perishable aggregate and is the cause of the view of the perishable aggregate? What neither is the cause of the view of the perishable aggregate nor is the cause of the view of the perishable aggregate? Thus the question is posed and the answer is given: There are two that neither are the cause of the view of the perishable aggregate nor are the cause of the view of the perishable aggregate. There is a distinction between the two, namely, the truth of suffering and the origin, which both are the cause of the view of the perishable aggregate and are not the cause of the view of the perishable aggregate; both are the cause of the view of the perishable aggregate and are the cause of the view of the perishable aggregate;

and is a possessor of aggregates, but is not a cause of viewing the aggregate as perishable. What is both a cause of viewing the aggregate as perishable and a possessor of the cause of viewing the aggregate as perishable? (Aggregates) other than those. What is neither a possessor of the cause of viewing the aggregate as perishable nor a cause of viewing the aggregate as perishable? It is the truth of suffering that is not afflicted, such as the truths of suffering and origin. Regarding the statement, "Whatever is the cause of producing form and whatever is the condition," the setting is in Shravasti. Monks, if whatever is the cause of producing form and whatever is the condition are impermanent, how can form, which arises from impermanent causes and conditions, be permanent? If whatever is the cause of producing feeling, perception, mental formations, and consciousness and whatever is the condition are impermanent, how can consciousness, which arises from impermanent causes and conditions, be permanent? Monks, form is impermanent, and feeling, perception, mental formations, and consciousness are impermanent. Whatever is impermanent is suffering. Whatever is suffering is without self. Whatever is without self is not mine, not what I am, not my self. Thus, it should be viewed with correct wisdom. Monks, the noble disciple who sees thus, who is endowed with hearing, grows weary of form, and grows weary of feeling, perception, mental formations, and consciousness. Whoever grows weary becomes detached from desire. Being detached from desire, one becomes liberated. Being liberated, with the wisdom and vision of liberation, one knows, "Birth is exhausted, the holy life has been lived, what had to be done has been done, there is nothing further beyond this." Thus it is said. This sutra, called "Abandoning Suffering," how should it be guided, and so forth? The setting is in Shravasti. If these five faculties are cultivated, practiced, and frequently performed, suffering that has occurred in the past, future, and present will be abandoned and will not be entered into. What are the five? Monks, if the faculty of faith is cultivated, practiced, and frequently performed, suffering that has occurred in the past, future, and present will be abandoned and will not be entered into.

The suffering of youth is cut off and will not enter into it. The power of diligence, the power of mindfulness, the power of samadhi, and the power of wisdom, if all are relied upon and practiced and cultivated many times, then the suffering that arises in the past, future, and present will be cut off, so it was said. Regarding "Whatever desire and attachment there is for form, abandon it," and so on. The beginning was in Shravasti. Monks, whatever desire and attachment there is for form, abandon it! If you abandon desire and attachment, you will also abandon such a form, and you will also fully understand it, just as if you cut off the root of a palm tree, it will become the nature of non-appearance and non-birth in the future. Monks, whatever desire and attachment there is for feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness, abandon it! If you abandon desire and attachment, you will also fully know and fully abandon desire and attachment, just as if you cut off the root of a palm tree, it will become the nature of non-appearance and complete non-birth in the future, so it was taught. For example, "To analyze craving in various ways," and so on. The beginning was in Shravasti. Monks, nets and vines, and lakes, and extreme impurity, and whatever obscures beings, extremely obscures, pervades, extremely pervades, covers and conceals, extremely covers, and like tangled balls of thread, like munja grass and balbaja grass, becoming going and coming, and connecting the continuum from this world to that world, wandering in samsara and entering, should be relied upon. Monks, what is the net of existence and the vines, and the lakes, and the extreme flow, and whatever obscures beings, from connecting the continuum to wandering in samsara and entering? Monks, that is, the event of "there is" has occurred, and the event of "I am like this" has occurred, and the thought of "I am like this" has occurred, and the thought of "I am not like that" has occurred, and the thought of "I am good" has occurred, and the thought of "I am bad" has occurred.
