In the evening, when Jñānadatta (རྒྱལ་བས་བསྟན་པ་) entered the house, the chief wealthy man asked, "Where did the letter go?" Someone replied, "Your brother took it and left." Then the chief wealthy man sent two horsemen to chase after him. After that, they devised a plan that no one could detect, and sent a young man with a letter, saying, "Throw this young man who is carrying the letter into the dog kennel." As soon as the messenger took the letter and went to the courtyard, the second son of the chief wealthy man was eaten by dogs in the courtyard. Then they sent someone else, saying, "You put him in the stove and burn him to death." Then they locked a young son inside the door. Jñānadatta (རྒྱལ་བས་བསྟན་པ་) forcibly took the letter from him and went to that person's place, and that person threw him into the fire pit and burned him to death. Everyone sent two horsemen to chase after him, but they were killed before they could arrive. After that, the chief wealthy man himself took up weapons and tried to kill Jñānadatta (རྒྱལ་བས་བསྟན་པ་), but he saw that the house was filled with people, so he went to the end of the workplace. He also saw that the outside was filled with people, so he wrote a letter and sent it to someone who did not believe in Jñānadatta (རྒྱལ་བས་བསྟན་པ་), saying, "As soon as you see this young man carrying the letter, bury him in the dug pit and kill him."
