Now, at the first place, it should be viewed as written in the Sutra of Many Realms. The phrase "Because there is no basis for pervasive mental torment," etc., should remove from the nine bases of pervasive mental torment. For example, in the first sutra of the Sixfold Sutra, it says: "The nine dharmas are the aspects of harm, namely, the nine bases of pervasive mental torment. To regard these as meaningless, to regard them as unhelpful, not desiring happiness, not desiring to abide in contact, not desiring accomplishment and happiness, these have harmed me, are harming, and will harm." Therefore, pervasive mental torment arises. Also, for those who desire benefit, desire helpfulness, desire happiness, desire to abide in contact, desire accomplishment and happiness for me, these do not desire their benefit, do not desire their helpfulness, do not desire their happiness, do not desire to abide in contact, do not desire their accomplishment and happiness, these have harmed them, are harming, and will harm in the future, therefore pervasive mental torment arises. Also, for those who do not desire benefit, do not desire helpfulness, do not desire happiness, do not desire accomplishment and happiness for me, but desire their benefit, desire their helpfulness, desire their happiness, desire to abide in contact, desire their accomplishment and happiness, have done those things, are doing, and will do in the future, therefore pervasive mental torment arises. These aspects of decline are clearly explained in the Sutra of Increasing by Ten, showing that they have extremely great faults. The sutra also says, such as "Any formless liberation is peaceful," etc. After that, the Blessed One called out to the monks, saying: "Monks, how wonderful it would be if I could sit before the teacher, ask the teacher questions, and speak the Dharma to the monks, perfect the precepts, possess unfabricated samadhi and vipassana, increase the abiding in emptiness, be related to and subsequently attain my own benefit, and become a pure conduct that is not criticized by the wise! Monks, alas! My wisdom and correct view will not be forgotten, and after the body is destroyed, I will be reborn in a happy realm, the heavens."

Possessing completely perfect morality, and unfabricated concentration and insight, and increasing the state of emptiness, and being connected with one's own benefit and subsequently attained, and becoming a pure conduct that is not blamed by the wise, how wonderful it would be if it could be so. Monks, alas, my close practices, whether they are Dharma robes, or alms, or bedding, or medicine for the sick, and the uses, those have been done, and they have great meaning and fruit, and great praise, and are very extensive, and make the moralities complete, up to the pure conduct that is not blamed by the wise, how wonderful it would be if it could be so. Monks, alas, I can endure displeasure, and if displeasure arises towards me, I can abide without disturbing the mind, and make the moralities complete, up to the pure conduct that is not blamed by the wise, how wonderful it would be if it could be so. Monks, alas, I can endure fear and the sound of fear, and even if fear arises, I can abide without my mind being discouraged by that cause, and make the moralities complete, up to the pure conduct that is not blamed by the wise, how wonderful it would be if it could be so. Monks, alas, from birth to birth, I do not let sinful and unwholesome thoughts disturb my mind, and I make the moralities complete, as before. Monks, alas, I can endure hunger and thirst, and mosquitoes, and gadflies, and the touch of poisonous snakes, and others speaking badly, and the path of words of sinful harm, and from birth to birth, the bodily sensations of suffering, intense, rough, unpleasant, life-threatening habits, and I make the moralities complete, up to as before. Monks, alas, from the beginning of thinking that desire is true, up to practicing and abiding in the fourth dhyana, how wonderful it would be if it could be so, and I make the moralities complete, up to as before. Monks, alas, for those peaceful formless liberations that transcend forms, how wonderful it would be if I could realize them with my body and abide completely, and the moralities
