Having bowed with their heads, circumambulated the Blessed One three times, and retreated from the feet of the Blessed One, before long, a young female calf was separated from its life. At the time of its death, its senses became very clear, its face completely pure, and the color of its skin became white. Then, on that very day in the morning, many monks, having put on their robes and carrying their alms bowls, entered Rajagriha (present-day Rajgir, Bihar) for alms. Many monks who were wandering for alms in Rajagriha heard these words: 'The venerable Purna Maitrayani-putra, at the residence of the potter Bharga, having subdued and arranged with the Dharma discourse of the six elements' distinction, and having retreated from the feet of the Blessed One, before long, a young calf that followed was separated from its life. At the time of its death, its senses became completely clear, the color of its face became completely pure, and its skin became completely white.' The alms-goers of Rajagriha heard these words, and after finishing their meal, they put away their alms bowls, placed their alms bowls and robes aside, washed their feet, and went to where the Blessed One was. Having approached, they bowed with their heads at the feet of the Blessed One and sat to one side. Having sat to one side, they said to the Blessed One: 'Venerable One, this morning we put on our robes and carried our alms bowls and entered Rajagriha for alms. Venerable One, we, many monks who were going for alms, heard these words: The venerable Purna Maitrayani-putra, at the residence of the potter Bharga, having subdued and arranged with the Dharma discourse of the six elements' distinction, and having retreated from the feet of the Blessed One, before long, a young calf that followed was separated from its life. At the time of its death, its senses became completely clear, its face became completely pure, and the color of its skin became completely white.' Venerable One, we heard these things. Venerable One, what is its destination? What is its next life? Monk...'

I, a son of such lineage, his birth is cessation. In all dharmas, fully understanding all dharmas, thus, by the power of dharma, not having caused harm to me. Bhikshus, a son of such lineage, make an offering of the body to the body of complete nirvana. Then, the Blessed One prophesied to the Venerable Puskalasarī, and the bhikshus were greatly delighted with the Blessed One, and greatly rejoiced in what the Blessed One said. The dharmas of perception and mental activity, those arise from the mind, this is the Bhikshuni Dharma-giving Sutra, as written before, should be viewed. Furthermore, from the explanation of the Hearers, in the thirteenth sutra of the summary verses, as stated by the Venerable Sukha-kara. Others, such as extracting from that sutra and that sutra. Because the mind arises with attachment and so on, this appears in many sutras. How, for a moment, in the second of the summary verses of the explanation of names, in the first sutra of mindfulness. How does a bhikshu abide contemplating the mind in the mind? Bhikshu, here, one with a mind of attachment, truly knows that the mind has attachment. One with a mind free from attachment, truly knows that the mind is free from attachment. One with anger, one without anger, one with delusion, one without delusion, one who is collected and one who is scattered, one who is timid and one who is extremely collected, one who is high and one who is low, one who is near to peace and one who is not near to peace, one who is in samadhi and one who is not in samadhi, one who is cultivated and one who is not cultivated, one whose mind is liberated and one whose mind is not liberated, truly knows. One whose mind is completely liberated, truly knows that the mind is completely liberated. Abiding contemplating the mind in the inner mind. Abiding contemplating the mind in the outer mind. Abiding contemplating the mind in the inner and outer mind. Abiding contemplating the mind in the nature of arising. Abiding contemplating the mind in the nature of decay.

He dwells contemplating mind on the mind. He dwells contemplating mind on the mind with the characteristic of arising and ceasing. When he recollects the mind as 'mind' and mindfulness is established, he relies and dwells only on cognition, only on seeing, and only on remembering, without taking anything from the world. Thus, a monk dwells contemplating mind on the mind. These six sense bases of contact should be known as past deeds. The basis of the story is in Shravasti. Monks, you should know that these six sense bases of contact are not aggregates and are not of others. Monks, these six sense bases of contact are accumulated by past deeds, delighted by past deeds, I say. What are the six sense bases of cognition? They are the sense base of contact arising from the gathering of the eye, and the sense bases of contact arising from the gathering of the ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind. Monks, in this, the noble disciple who is endowed with hearing contemplates the dependent origination very well and properly. That is, because this exists, that arises; because this arises, that arises. That is, because this exists, the six aggregates of consciousness arise, as well as the six aggregates of contact, the six aggregates of feeling, and the six aggregates of craving. That is, because this exists, birth, aging, sickness, death, sorrow, lamentation, pain, distress, and despair arise. Thus, only this mass of suffering arises. Monks, thus the world arises from cause and condition. Thus, the world arises from cause. Monks, the world also ceases from cause and condition. How does the world cease from cause and condition? That is, because this exists, that arises; because this ceases, that ceases. That is, because these six aggregates of consciousness cease, the six aggregates of contact, the six aggregates of feeling, and the six aggregates of craving do not arise.
