Those who are not endowed with hearing and are separated from ignorance, and those who have generated wisdom, being separated from ignorance and having generated wisdom, will not feel the thought of "I", nor will they feel the thought of "not mine", nor will they feel the thought of "I am here", nor will they feel the thought of "I am good", nor will they feel the thought of "I am bad", nor will they feel the thought of "I am similar to...". They will not perceive, nor will they feel the thought of "I do not know", and they will abide in this. Knowing thus, seeing thus, those former feelings of touch arising from the accumulation of ignorance have ceased and vanished, and by the touch of wisdom, later feelings arise and appear. Thus it was said. There are four kinds of inversions. The origin of the story is in Shravasti. Then, the Blessed One called out to the monks, saying: "Monks, these four are those by which sentient beings act perversely with a perverse mind. The perverse mind, perverse perception, and perverse view of sentient beings, like a tangled thread, like a tangled weave, arising and ceasing like the munja grass and the balavaja, connecting from this world to the other world, connecting from the other world to here, and causing them to wander in the cycle of existence. What are the four? Regarding impermanence as permanent, sentient beings have perverse perceptions, perverse minds, and perverse views. With this perversion, the minds of sentient beings act perversely, like a tangled thread, like a tangled weave, arising and ceasing like the munja grass and the balavaja, connecting from this world to the other world, connecting from the other world to here, and causing them to wander in the cycle of existence. Regarding suffering as happiness, regarding impurity as purity, regarding selflessness as self, the minds of sentient beings are thus perverted. The minds of sentient beings thus have perverse perceptions and perverse views, like a tangled thread, arising and ceasing like the munja grass and the balavaja, connecting from this world to the other world, connecting from the other world to here, and causing them to wander in the cycle of existence.

Those who practice and cause others to practice. When the Tathagata, the Arhat, the Perfectly Awakened Buddha appears in the world, at that time he will teach that this is the noble truth of suffering, this is the origin of suffering, this is the cessation of suffering, this is the path leading to the cessation of suffering. Monks, those who hear the Tathagata, the Arhat, the Perfectly Awakened Buddha teaching that this is the noble truth of suffering, this is the origin of suffering, this is the cessation of suffering, this is the path leading to the cessation of suffering, and who see it, they will abandon the inverted perception of clinging to permanence in impermanence, the inverted mind, the inverted view, and the inverted perception of clinging to happiness in suffering, clinging to purity in impurity, clinging to self in non-self, the inverted mind, the inverted view. Sentient beings perceive permanence in impermanence, perceive happiness in suffering, perceive self in non-self, perceive purity in impurity, inverted sentient beings, their minds are scattered, they are separated from mindfulness. Those who are associated with them, their unpleasantness does not change. Like a calf following its mother cow, they follow birth and old age. When the Perfectly Awakened One of the world, who desires to benefit gods and humans, the one with eyes who transcends afflictions, the Tathagatas appear, suffering and the cessation of suffering, the arising of suffering, and the true cessation of suffering, the path of peace and nirvana, the eightfold noble path, are the Dharma that extinguishes all suffering, at that time they will be truly proclaimed. In impermanence, see impermanence, in suffering, see suffering, in non-self, see non-self, in impurity, perceive impurity. They are easy to accomplish, easy to obtain, and attain nirvana in this very life. They transcend all fears and will be free from all desires. Thus it is said. It is also said in the Sutra. The origin of the story is in Shravasti.
