Yes. This Dharma should be seen and known with accurate knowledge as it is. Venerable one, it is so. Monks, by what name and relying on what name, from 'faith is also different' to 'there is no knowing other than this world' in the accurate declaration, as said before. In 'When experiencing pleasant feeling', what is the close indication? This topic should be drawn from the category of great Dharma: Ananda, by what measure is it called 'truly observing oneself, truly observing oneself'? Venerable one, the Blessed One is the root of all Dharmas, the Blessed One is the eye of all Dharmas. Blessed One, if this meaning is shown to the monks, the monks, having heard it, will take it well. Ananda, therefore, listen well and pay attention, and I will explain. Ananda, this is the true observation of 'feeling is self', and truly observing. Ananda, furthermore, here, some do not truly observe 'feeling is self', but truly observe 'I am the Dharma of knowing and feeling', and truly observe. Ananda, furthermore, here, some do not truly observe 'feeling is self', nor do they truly observe 'I am the Dharma of knowing and feeling', but truly observe 'I am not an individual feeler', not truly observing, and truly observing. Ananda, to those who truly observe 'feeling is self', it should be said: Venerable ones, these are the three feelings, namely pleasant feeling, painful feeling, and neither pleasant nor painful feeling. Venerable ones, when experiencing pleasant feeling, those two feelings, namely painful feeling and neither pleasant nor painful feeling, will cease. When you experience pleasant feeling, that pleasant feeling is also impermanent, it is the Dharma of cessation. When pleasant feeling ceases, it is separated from self, separated from what is mine.

Has it not come to pass? O you who possess life, when you experience the feeling of suffering, those two feelings, namely pleasure and the feeling that is neither pleasure nor pain, will cease. When you experience the feeling of suffering, that feeling of suffering is also impermanent and subject to cessation. When the feeling of suffering ceases, it is separated from me, and have I not come to pass? O you who possess life, when you experience the feeling that is neither pleasure nor pain, those two feelings, namely pleasure and the feeling of suffering, will cease. When you experience the feeling of pleasure, that feeling that is neither pleasure nor pain is also impermanent and subject to cessation. When the feeling that is neither pleasure nor pain ceases, it is separated from me, and has it not come to pass? Thus it is said. Kungawo, what do you think? Is it good to truly see in this way that feeling is self when experiencing feelings of pleasure and pain mixed and mingled like this? Venerable one, it is not. Kungawo, in this way, I cannot tolerate seeing feeling as self, truly seeing it, truly seeing it. Kungawo, some do not truly see feeling as self, but nevertheless truly see self as the nature of knowing and feeling. To those who truly see and truly see in this way, one should say this: Wherever there is no feeling, there is no perceiver of feeling to be seen. Kungawo, if there is no feeling, then no perceiver of feeling is seen. If they say that self is the nature of knowing and feeling, are those statements good? Venerable one, they are not. Kungawo, in this way, I cannot tolerate truly seeing self as the nature of knowing and feeling. Kungawo, some do not truly see feeling as self, and do not truly see it, and do not truly see it. I cannot tolerate seeing self as the nature of knowing and feeling, but nevertheless truly see self as without separate experience.

Now it should be said that, for those fortunate ones, the feeler is not visible in whom. Kungawo, for whom there is no feeling, then the feeler is not visible, but can it be called "I"? Venerable one, no. Kungawo, if all the conceptions clinging to "I" are not true, then is it good to correctly see that "I" has no independent perception? Venerable one, no. Kungawo, in this way, correctly seeing that "I" has no independent perception, and correctly seeing, I cannot bear this. Kungawo, just by this, it can be said that "I" is correctly seen and correctly perceived. How to call a woman in the Bhikshu Sangha? When the teachings of the Blessed One were rejected three times by the Bhikshus of Kaushambi, at that time the Bhikshus asked the Buddha, the Blessed One, for the method of cutting off all doubts. What deeds did the Tathagata do, so that with the maturation of that karma, the Blessed One's good words, beneficial words, and words worthy of acceptance were also rejected three times by the Bhikshus of Kaushambi. The Blessed One said: Bhikshus, it is the Tathagata himself, what was done and accumulated by others in the past, others will experience, until "for sentient beings, it will ripen into fruition." Bhikshus, in the past, in the past time, the Tathagata, Arhat, Samyak-sambuddha, endowed with knowledge and conduct, Sugata, Lokavidu, Anuttara-purusa-damya-sarathi, teacher of gods and humans, the Buddha, the Blessed One, the Samyak-sambuddha named "Invincible" appeared in the world. At that time, I practiced the Bodhisattva conduct, became the son of a wealthy family, and generated the mind of unsurpassed Bodhi, and went forth. After going forth, I became the holder of the three pitakas. After that, a dispute arose in the Bhikshu Sangha, and he made that dispute even more serious. A Bhikshu who held the sutras brought up that dispute and pacified that dispute.
