The effort of the body, the effort of the mind, experiencing the suffering of the body separately, and also experiencing the suffering of the mind separately, because of experiencing the suffering of body and mind, thus, future birth, aging, sickness, death, sorrow, lamentation, suffering, discomfort, and confusion will arise, and this great mass of suffering will truly arise. Monks, knowing and seeing the eye and form as they truly are, the consciousness of the eye, the contact of the eye's gathering, and the feeling born from the cause of the eye's gathering and contact, whether it is pleasure, or pain, or neither pleasure nor pain, knowing and seeing it as it truly is, one will not truly rejoice in it. One will not truly be attached to it, nor be deluded, nor think separately, nor bind the mind, nor approach the five aggregates of taking, nor approach etc., because of the craving accompanied by the desire for joy, one will not be born in that and that place, the fatigue of the body, the fatigue of the mind, the disease of the body, the disease of the mind, the complete burning of the body, the complete burning of the mind, the effort of the body, the effort of the mind, experiencing the suffering of the body separately, and also one will not experience the suffering of the mind separately, experiencing the suffering of body and mind, future birth, aging, sickness, death, sorrow, lamentation, suffering, discomfort, and the great aggregate born from the cause of the mind's gathering and knowing, the mind's gathering and contact, will not arise.

O! For that, not being attached, not being deluded, not discriminating separately, the mind not being bound, not accumulating the five aggregates of close acquisition. From the craving accompanied by joyful desire, one will not be born again in that and that place, and there will be no physical fatigue, mental fatigue, physical epidemics, mental epidemics, complete burning of the body, complete burning of the mind, physical exertion, mental exertion, experiencing physical suffering separately, and experiencing mental suffering separately. Because of experiencing physical and mental suffering separately, future birth, aging, sickness, death, sorrow, lamentation, uttering cries, suffering, displeasure, and disturbances will not arise. Thus, this great mass of suffering will not arise. If one knows and sees in that way, the cultivation of the eightfold noble path will be perfected. The cultivation of right view will be perfected, and right thought, right speech, right action, right effort, right mindfulness, and right concentration will also be perfected. Here, the boundary of right action and livelihood are already completely purified and cleansed. Thus, reversing the order, the cultivation of the eightfold noble path will be perfected. The cultivation of the four mindfulnesses will be perfected. The cultivation of the four right abandonments, the four miraculous legs, the five faculties, the five powers, and the seven branches of enlightenment will be perfected. Calming and insight become familiar and enter equally. Then, those dharmas that should be realized and fully known are realized and fully known. Those dharmas that should be abandoned after realization are abandoned after realization. Those dharmas that should be manifested after realization are manifested after realization. Those dharmas that should be cultivated after realization are cultivated after realization. Those dharmas that should be realized

Furthermore, what are the dharmas to be directly known and fully understood, and what is directly known and fully understood? For example, name and form. This is called directly knowing and fully understanding those dharmas that are to be directly known and fully understood. What are the dharmas to be directly known and then abandoned, and what is abandoned after directly knowing them? Ignorance and the existence of existence. This is called directly knowing and then abandoning those dharmas that are to be abandoned. What are the dharmas to be directly known and then realized, and what is realized after directly knowing them? Knowledge and liberation. This is called directly knowing and then realizing those dharmas that are to be realized. What are the dharmas to be directly known and then cultivated, and what is cultivated after directly knowing them? Tranquility and insight. This is called directly knowing and then cultivating those dharmas that are to be cultivated. Any bhikshu who directly knows and fully understands those dharmas that are to be directly known and fully understood, and who, after directly knowing them, abandons those dharmas that are to be abandoned, and who, after directly knowing them, realizes those dharmas that are to be realized, and who cultivates those dharmas that are to be cultivated after directly knowing them, is called a bhikshu. A bhikshu who has cut off craving, abandoned all fetters, and put an end to suffering through correct direct knowledge. This is a category of dharmas called the six sense bases. Bhikshus, first, beginning with virtue, the dharma that makes the pure conduct completely clear should be taught. Abandonment is at the water's edge, what is said is action. The basis of discussion is in the place of hearing. Then, the Blessed One called out to the bhikshus, saying: Bhikshus, by means of what is wrong and what is right, the Dharma...
