If asked what is collation, it refers to the section from "Here, the monk has abandoned pleasure" to "cultivating and abiding in the fourth dhyana." Here, his mind is concentrated; here, the root of his pleasure is completely ceased. From "just as before, being skilled in and especially cultivating the liberation from the root of pleasure." The monk truly knows the arising and occurring of the root of equanimity. From "that also has a cause" to "increasing like the root of suffering." If asked where his mind is concentrated, where his root of equanimity is completely ceased, completely extinguished, and reaches its end? This is the monk who has realized and abides in the samadhi of all causes, attention, and the cause of the mind with his body. Here, his mind is concentrated; here, his root of equanimity is completely ceased, completely extinguished, and reaches its end. Monk, just like this, one should be skilled in and especially cultivate the liberation from the root of equanimity. Thus spoke the Blessed One. The fourth dhyana is because of being internally free from one's own faults. From the second chapter of the summary verses that are correctly possessed in the middle, from the Sutra of the First World. It is taught: Here, the monk is secluded from desires, cultivates and abides in the first dhyana. Here, the noble ones say there is movement. If asked where the noble ones say there is movement? That is, the noble ones say that investigation and analysis are with movement. Furthermore, monk, when investigation and analysis have ceased, he cultivates and abides in the second dhyana. Here, the noble ones say there is movement. If asked where the noble ones say there is movement? That is, the noble ones say that being with joy is with movement. Furthermore, monk, being detached from desire for joy, he cultivates and abides in the third dhyana. Here,

These are the words of the Noble Ones that are accompanied by movement. Where do the Noble Ones speak of words accompanied by movement? "This is happiness, this is happiness"—these are the words of the Noble Ones that are accompanied by movement. Furthermore, having abandoned happiness, up to the point of cultivating and abiding in the fourth dhyana, these are the words of the Noble Ones that are spoken without movement. The commentary on the Dharma Treasury, called "Nevalkova," in which the third chapter of the Treasury mostly agrees with the Sutra Pitaka, is completed here. There are two kinds of karma: volitional karma and karma arising from volition. This can be known from the second sutra. The explanation of various names, the final summary verses, in the seventh chapter, the Sutra of Mental Arising, it says like this: Monks, you should understand karma, as well as the cause of the arising of karma, the maturation of karma, the classification of karma, the cessation of karma, and the manner in which all karmas cease. Monks, you should understand karma. What is karma? Volitional karma and karma arising from volition; these karmas should be understood in this way. You should understand the cause of the arising of karma. What is the cause of the arising of karma? Monks, ignorance is the fundamental cause of the arising of karma. This is the cause of the arising of karma; you should understand the cause of the arising of karma in this way. You should understand the maturation of karma. What is the maturation of karma? There is black karma with black results, white karma with white results, and black and white karma with black and white results. There is also karma that is neither black nor white and has no results, which exhausts those karmas. This is the maturation of karma; you should understand the maturation of karma in this way. You should understand the classification of karma. What is the classification of karma? Some karma causes beings to be born in hell, some karma causes beings to be born as animals, some karma causes beings to be born as hungry ghosts, and some karma causes beings to be born as humans. This is the classification of all karmas; you should understand the classification of all karmas in this way.

It should be known that this is the method (of eliminating karma). What is meant by knowing the cessation of karma? When ignorance ceases, karma ceases. This is the cessation of all karmas. It should be known that this is the cessation of karmas. What is meant by knowing the path to the cessation of all karmas? It is the Noble Eightfold Path, that is, from right view to right concentration. This is the path leading to the cessation of karmas. It should be known that this is the path leading to the cessation of karmas. Whichever bhikshu, like this, thoroughly understands karma as it is, as well as the cause of the arising of karma, the ripening of karma, the various distinctions of karma, the cessation of karma, and thoroughly understands the path leading to the cessation of karma as it is, that is to say, the bhikshu truly sees the nature of karma, truly knows the pure conduct, and is accompanied by a sense of detachment. In the sutra, it is said that there are three kinds of form, the place of which is Shravasti. Form is summarized in three ways: visible and obstructive form, invisible but obstructive form, and invisible and non-obstructive form, as it was declared. The sutra also speaks of uncontaminated form, for those who possess aggregates: two faiths and two joys, complete destruction and change, yellow and red on the earth, aggregates, dharma, and contaminated. This verse is written in the first chapter of the Abhidharmakosha: Whatever is associated with contamination. It is also said in the sutra about increase, the Blessed One was staying in the Nāda-saṃgha garden in Kauśāmbī, and then the venerable Mahākātyāyana went to where the Blessed One was, and after arriving, bowed to the feet of the Blessed One with his head, and then sat on one side. After sitting on one side, the venerable Mahākātyāyana said to the Blessed One: Venerable, is there an opportunity to hear about the merit arising from matter, that is, great fruit, great benefit, great glory, great expanse? Blessed One
