We despised each other, saying, 'I am of good color.' Because of our pride in color, we always committed sinful and unwholesome deeds, so the essence of the earth disappeared. Later, a garden of sprouts appeared, with perfect color, imperfect smell, but perfect taste. We ate it, lived long, and existed for a long time. Among us, those who ate the least had good color, and those who ate the most had bad color. Relying on two kinds of food, the color became two kinds. Because the color became two kinds, they despised each other, saying, 'You are of bad color, and I am of good color.' Because of our pride in color, we always committed sinful and unwholesome deeds, so those gardens of sprouts disappeared, and uncultivated and unsown rice appeared. Without husks and chaff, pure, harvested four times, growing in the evening if harvested in the morning, growing in the morning if harvested in the evening, harvested and growing again, not knowing when it was harvested and when it grew. We ate it, lived long, and existed for a long time. When we enjoyed the rice in the storage place, those rice grains had husks and shells, and even if harvested, they would not grow again, and we knew when it was harvested and when it grew. We settled in our respective fields. Now let us gather together and divide the fields. Let us divide the boundaries.' After they said this, they gathered together and began to divide the fields. They drew boundaries and set limits. This setting of places is the first time that boundaries appeared in the world, which is law and unlaw. Among them, the law of law is: the supreme law of the king. After that, any other sentient being, even though they had their own rice, took from others without giving. After that, they saw that sentient being taking without giving, even though they had their own rice. After seeing it, they said to that sentient being, 'Hey, sentient being, why do you take from others without giving, even though you have your own rice? Sentient being, do not do that in the future.' Thus they spoke.

Two or three times, having rice themselves, they took others' without giving. Those sentient beings, seeing this the second and third time, said to that sentient being: 'Hey, you clearly have rice yourself, why do you take others' without giving? Go away!' They pointed fingers at each other, cursed in the assembly, and even whipped each other. 'Hey, sentient being, you clearly have rice yourself, why do you take others' without giving?' Then that sentient being said to those sentient beings: 'Hey, sentient beings, this sentient being is pointing fingers at each other for the sake of rice, and even cursing in the assembly.' Then those sentient beings said to that sentient being: 'Hey, sentient being, you clearly have rice yourself, why do you take others' without giving? You are being pointed at and even cursed in the assembly because of rice, go away! Don't do that again in the future.' Then those sentient beings thought: 'Haven't you seen? Because of rice, they point fingers at each other and even curse each other in the assembly. Let us gather together and choose someone more beautiful, more handsome, more pleasing to the eye, and more capable than us, and appoint him as the leader of the fields. Those who should be punished with punishment, let him punish with punishment; those who should be helped, let him help; and in order to make our fields more fertile, let us offer him lawful taxes.' So those sentient beings gathered together and chose someone beautiful, handsome, pleasing to the eye, and strong, and appointed him as the leader of the fields. He punishes with punishment those sentient beings who should be punished with punishment; he helps those who should be helped; and in order to make the fields of those sentient beings more fertile, he offers lawful taxes to him. Because he is respected by many people, he is given the name 'Respected by Many', 'Respected by Many', 'Respected by Many'. Because he protects the fields, he is given the name 'Royal Lineage', 'Royal Lineage'. He acts in accordance with morality, and increases and expands it; he acts in accordance with wisdom, and increases and expands it; because he makes the people of the Dharma happy, he is called a King.
