From the beginning of "piercing and burning," and "the ripening of that," to the end of "it should be understood in this way." Venerable Subhuti, I (saw) a sentient being wearing iron cloth, covered with iron cloth, sitting on an iron seat, eating burning, fiercely burning, extremely burning, unified iron balls as food, walking upwards from the sky, uttering begging wails. From there, it is described in detail. Monks, this sentient being in the past, in the teachings of the perfectly enlightened Buddha Kashyapa, became a fully ordained monk, and he maliciously slandered the Sangha, and appropriated the remaining resources of the Sangha for himself. From the beginning of "the ripening of that," to the end of "it should be understood in this way." Monks, just as with a monk, so too with a nun, a novice monk, and a novice nun. Venerable Subhuti, I (saw) a sentient being making iron chariots, causing the body to pass through from the head to the back of the neck, the iron ground burning, fiercely burning, extremely burning, the unified road destroying and fiercely destroying, walking downwards from the sky, uttering begging wails. From there, it is described in detail. Monks, this sentient being in the past lived by making chariots in the city of Rajagriha. From the beginning of "the ripening of that," to the end of "it should be understood in this way." Venerable Subhuti, I (saw) a sentient being extending its tongue, being nailed with a hundred iron nails, that sentient being's tongue being covered, expanded, and extremely expanded with a hundred iron nails, just as the skin of a bull king is covered, expanded, and extremely expanded with a hundred nails, so too that sentient being's tongue is covered, expanded, and extremely expanded with a hundred iron nails, walking upwards from the sky, uttering begging wails. From there, it is described in detail. Monks, this sentient being in the past, in the teachings of the perfectly enlightened Buddha Kashyapa, became the basis of a monk, he drove away the monks who came, (saying) Venerable ones, there is no dwelling, food, drink, or fruit here, go to another place where you can find food and drink.

May you abide! Here there are no Dharma robes, alms, bedding, mats, and medicine for the sick. Thus they are driven away. There, future monks do not come, and those who have come depart. From "due to the ripening of that (karma)" to "it should be held in this way." Venerable Leksna, I pulled out the tongue of a sentient being and drove in an iron stake. On the tongue of that sentient being, the iron stake spread and grew, spreading and growing exceedingly, just as the hide of a bull-king is covered and grown with stakes, so too on the tongue of that sentient being, iron stakes spread and grew, rising upwards from the sky, uttering cries of supplication, until it grew. Monks, this sentient being was once a resident monk in the teachings of the perfectly enlightened Buddha Dipamkara. He drove away the monks who came, saying, "Dust touching the ground with their heads." There, future monks do not come, and those who have come depart. From "due to the ripening of that (karma)" to "it should be held in this way." Venerable Leksna, I pulled out the tongue of a sentient being and drove in hundreds of iron stakes. On the tongue of that sentient being, the iron stakes spread and grew, just as the hide of a bull-king is covered and grown with stakes, so too on the body of that sentient being, iron stakes, until it grew. Monks, this sentient being was once a powerful monk in the teachings of the perfectly enlightened Buddha Dipamkara. He caused disharmony in the Sangha. He held onto the Sangha with harsh words and quarrels. There, future monks do not come, and those who have come also depart, that
