Those who are extremely playful and full of joy are impermanent, unstable, non-eternal, and have the nature of complete change, thus declaring that one part is permanent and one part is impermanent. Monks, this is the third thing, that is, based on what is known and based on what is relied upon, as mentioned before. Monks, furthermore, a fourth situation will arise, that is, any renunciate or Brahmin who, based on what is known, based on what is relied upon, and based on what is observed, contemplates the past, declares that one part is permanent, as mentioned before. Monks, in the desire realm, there is a god called 'extremely confused mind'. When they look at each other eye to eye, their minds become extremely hateful. Because of extreme hatred in their minds, those beings will die and transmigrate from that place. Then, starting from 'other beings', as mentioned before, when they equally settle their minds, they will individually experience and remember their past experiences, and they will think like this: in the desire realm, those gods called 'extremely confused mind' who do not look at each other eye to eye are permanent, stable, eternal, and have the nature of complete non-change. And those of us who look at each other eye to eye are impermanent, unstable, non-eternal, and have the nature of complete change. Thus declaring that one part is permanent and one part is impermanent. Monks, this is the fourth thing, that is, based on what is known, based on what is relied upon, and based on what is observed, those who contemplate the past, declare that one part is permanent and one part is impermanent. Declaring 'I and the world are partly permanent' is a lie. Monks, some renunciates or Brahmins who contemplate the past, declare 'I and the world are partly permanent' is a lie, that is, other than these four things, there are no other things that will arise, as mentioned before. What are those? As mentioned before. Monks, renunciates or Brahmins who contemplate the past declare 'I and the world arise from causelessness, born from causelessness.'

They speak manifestly by manifestly speaking, that is, about these two things. Which bhikṣu or Brahmin, knowing, relying on, and focusing on what, speculates about the past extreme, saying that the self and the world are without cause, manifestly saying that the self and the world are born without cause? Bhikṣus, in the realm of form, there is a god called the Non-Perceptual God. After consciousness arises, he dies and transmigrates from that place. Then, from what is called another mind, as before, if the mind abides equally, he will correctly remember the initial consciousness. He will think, "The self and the world arise from no cause." In this way, the self and the world arise from no cause, and I, who was not born before, am now born. Bhikṣus, this is the first thing: whoever knows, relies on, and focuses on what, speculates about the past extreme, saying that the self and the world are without cause. As before. Bhikṣus, another second thing will arise. Any śramaṇa or Brahmin, whoever knows, relies on, and focuses on what... until speaking manifestly by manifestly speaking. Bhikṣus, here, some become solely speculators and investigators, abiding in the place of complete speculation, not expressing the appearances of ordinary people, but universally investigating. He will think, "The self and the world arise from no cause." In this way, the self and the world arise from no cause, and I arise alone here, and I alone become a speculator and investigator here, abiding in the place of complete speculation, universally investigating the appearances of ordinary people, investigating speculation, universally investigating speculation. He will think, "The self and the world arise from no cause." Bhikṣus, here, whoever knows these two things... as before. Bhikṣus, any śramaṇa or Brahmin, some of them speculate about the past extreme, manifestly saying that the self and the world arise from no cause, and manifestly saying that they are born from no cause, those people are only these two things.
