Abiding in equanimity, with the purified divine eye that transcends humanity, one sees beings passing away, being born, having good complexion, having bad complexion, being inferior, being superior, going to happy realms, going to bad realms, and then one thinks, "Self and world are permanent." Self and world are permanent, and thus it transforms. I, in a solitary place, or under a tree, or in an empty house, and so on, when the mind is settled, with the purified divine eye that transcends humanity, and so on, even seeing those who go to bad realms, "Self and world have passed and do not go, there is no harm to be done, they are permanent, and these beings abide like vajra, and they transmigrate in their own continuum, there is no equality of permanence and impermanence." Monks, this is the fourth thing, that is, what is understood, what is relied upon, what is focused upon, and those who speak of permanence, contemplating the extreme of the past, say, "Self and world are permanent," thus manifestly speaking, they are manifestly speaking.

If by what reason, those who adhere to the extreme of the past and say that one aspect is permanent, thus manifestly say that I and the world are one aspect permanent in the four great elements, will those who manifestly say arise from those who manifestly say? Monks, there is also a time when this world is destroyed and destroyed. When the world is destroyed, most sentient beings will be born with the same share as the gods of clear light. There, the mind-born form, and the senses are complete and without defect, all limbs and limbs are complete, the color and shape are beautiful, with their own light, walking in the sky, eating joy, and having the food of joy, long-lived and staying for a long time, will be born. Monks, when this world is formed, there is also such a time. When the world is formed, in the empty sky, the empty immeasurable palace of Brahma will be manifestly established. After that, another sentient being, having exhausted his life, karma, and merit, dies from the ranks of the gods of clear light and is born in the empty immeasurable palace of Brahma. There, he stays alone, without a companion or friend, for a long time, long-lived and long-lasting. After that, when that sentient being lives long and stays for a long time, alas, wouldn't it be good if other sentient beings who share my lot were also born here? Greed arises and manifest joy arises. When that sentient being makes such a wish, another sentient being, having exhausted his life, karma, and merit, dies from the ranks of the gods of clear light and is born in the immeasurable palace of Brahma. After that, that sentient being thinks like this: I am alone, without a companion or friend, living long and for a long time. For a long time, alas, wouldn't it be good if other sentient beings who share my lot were also born here? Greed arises and manifest joy arises, and thus, by the power of my wish, other sentient beings who share my lot are also born here. This sentient being is created by me. I am the lord of these sentient beings, the creator, the giver, the giver, like the father of all things. Those sentient beings also think like this: We sentient beings are one

Without a mate and without friends, living long and abiding for a long time. Before that long time has passed for that sentient being, it develops craving and generates manifest joy, thinking: 'Alas, how wonderful it would be if other sentient beings of similar fortune to me were also born here!' Because that sentient being wishes in its mind in this way, we are also born here. We are emanated by this sentient being. This sentient being is our sovereign, the emanator, the giver, the complete giver, like a father to all things!' They think in this way. Then, other sentient beings, whose lifespan is exhausted, whose karma is exhausted, and whose merit is exhausted, after that die and come here with similar fortune to these others. They grow up and their faculties fully mature. They shave off their hair and beards, and put on dyed robes. With faith, solely for the sake of true liberation, they go forth from home to homelessness. They completely burn, abandon, meditate, do repeatedly, and contemplate in a solitary place, or under a tree, or in an empty house, and in this way they attain such a state of mental tranquility. How do they equally abide in their minds? Remembering what they have previously experienced, they think: 'These are emanated by Brahma. He is of a nature that is permanent, stable, and completely unchanging. We are emanated by Brahma, and are of a nature that is impermanent, unstable, and changing.' Thus, they speak of one part as permanent and one part as not permanent. Monks, this is the first thing that they realize, rely on, and focus on, and based on which they speculate about the past, speaking of one part as permanent and one part as not permanent, declaring that 'I and the world are partly permanent.' Monks, another, second, thing will also occur. Whatever renunciant or brahmin realizes, relies on, and focuses on, and based on which they speculate about the past, speaking of one part as permanent and one part as not permanent, declaring that 'I and the world are partly permanent.' Monks, Brahma sees in this way, speaks in this way, and says in this way: 'Just as these four - earth, water, fire, and wind - are impermanent, unstable, unreliable, and completely changing.'
