If it is thought that things would become other than their own nature, therefore, it is said, "Even from nature, it is not something other." It is clear that "Isvara is a mere term," because in the world, it is merely arbitrary and does not rely on reason. "Existence is asserted in all times, Neither destruction nor non-arising is asserted, The third of existence is also non-existent, Why is not Vishnu an illusion?" For the Sutra school, it would also become a fault. Although the teacher Samantabhadra said that the past and future are the path of determination, he did not speak of it here for fear of extensive content. Whatever is said will occur. The teacher said, "We also," showing that whatever has previously occurred is the past, but it does not exist by its own characteristics. What will occur if the conditions exist is the future, and it is also thought to be non-existent. Having done so, the meaning of "exists" is what has previously occurred and what will occur. The Vaibhashikas would say, "What do you say?" The teacher said, "How else would it exist?" "Existing in the nature of the past and future" refers to the Vaibhashikas, meaning existing in the nature of the past and future. In order to refute the view of denigrating cause and effect, regarding "In order to refute the view of denigrating the cause, it is said that the past exists," It is said, "In order to refute the view of denigrating the effect, it is said that the future exists." If it is said that the past has occurred and the future will occur, then why say "exists"? If it becomes a collection of substances, therefore it is said, "The word 'exists' is a particle of a sentence," and the particle is said in order to refute the nature of what is said, in order to know that it is the object of the three times. If this is what is said, then here it would not become a combination of "the past of this exists, the future exists," because it is the present time. The lamp that did not exist before, exists, will appear in detail, the lamp that did not exist before

Although existence is not substantial, it is still said to exist. For example, the extinguishing of a lamp exists, but someone says, 'I did not extinguish it.' Attaching the sound of 'exists' to the extinguishing does not mean that the extinguishing also exists. Similarly, the past and the future, although not substantial, are said to exist. Therefore, it should be understood that the sound of 'exists' does not only refer to meaningful things. If it were not so, if it is said that what has happened is the past, and what will happen if there are causes and conditions is the future, if one does not want to speak of such existing words, then the past and the future would not be established at all. Just like the present, because everything exists with its own characteristics at all times. Then, what the Blessed One said will be elaborated, just as it is said in the sutra: 'Shariputra, those who say that the past, exhausted, ceased, separated, and transformed actions do not exist, the nature of those words is not like foolish, unclear, unkind children, and those wandering ascetics with sticks and disheveled hair, who speak randomly and without discrimination.' This is said in detail. Why is that? Shariputra, the past, exhausted, ceased, separated, and transformed actions do exist.' If it is said like this, is it that one does not want to admit that those actions have happened before? The place of those actions is only the recognition that the actions have happened before, and the destruction and cessation caused by their maturation do not exist as substances. Therefore, the Blessed One, in order to show existence, said that it exists. If it were not so, then the teachings would become meaningless.' This is temporarily an explanation of the meaning of the Vaibhashika sutra. Because the teacher explains it in other ways, he said in detail 'from that.' 'From that' refers to from the sutra. 'From that continuum' refers to which continuum the action belongs to. 'Guided by it' refers to the action guiding and producing. What is that? The result.

has the power to generate. In this way, karma is able to cause the continuum to generate special fruits. Therefore, the Blessed One, in order to show that even though the karma has ceased, it still has the power to generate the fruit that it has led to, said that it exists. If it is not so, it means that if the past is shown to exist. Like "if it exists only in its own nature" and so on. If karma exists by its own nature, then just as it happens now, the past will not be established. Therefore, this is recognized in terms of meaning, not the previous statement. This is undoubtedly the case. Because the Blessed One said in the verse that the past and the future do not exist, therefore, it should be known that the meaning of this sutra is this alone. If it is said that in the present time, it means that in the present time, the present object arises from the object that has not arisen. This is not reasonable, because time is not a different thing from the object. It is not so, the time that occurs now is not a different thing from the object, that is, the object with the name of eye, etc. It means that it is not a different entity. The present time is the object, therefore, how can the present thing arise from what is not its own nature? As it is said: They are the time, the four speeches. Saying "there is no future eye" is established. If it is said that it arises from what is not its own nature, then it will become that the eye arises from what is not produced. Therefore, saying "there is no future eye" is established. For the time being, it will be explained in detail here. Since the objects of eye consciousness, etc., are present, the object, like the support, is also capable of generating, therefore only the consciousness is mentioned. The consciousness only exists in the present cause, so like the cause that can generate, are the dharmas also the same as it? If it is said that the dharmas are the cause that can generate, then the future that will arise in a thousand kalpas is the future.
