in the manner of having. The subtle parts of the body's consciousness are associated with the tangible through the object, and are similar to those that are similarly associated, up to the point where they are also the same. The subtle parts of the mind's consciousness are associated with the twelve sources through the object, and are associated with those that are similarly associated in the manner of being similarly associated. Such is the determination of the basis and the object. Those who are universally afflicted, who are to be abandoned by seeing the suffering of determination, are associated with the five realms through the object. They are associated with those who are similarly associated in the manner of being similarly associated. Those who are not universally afflicted are associated with their own grounds through the object. Those who are similarly associated are associated in the manner of being similarly associated. Likewise, everything should be understood appropriately. With the determination of past, future, and present, from "what is associated with the past" to "what is associated with the present," it should be stated thus. What is called self-nature affliction is that attachment is focused on the self-nature of experiencing happiness, therefore it is called self-nature affliction. Anger is focused on the self-nature of experiencing suffering, and pride is also focused on the self-nature of experiencing happiness. What is called general affliction is called general affliction because it is focused on things that will experience happiness, suffering, and neither happiness nor suffering. Or from the self-nature of the lineage, how is it? The objects of attachment, anger, and pride, which are to be abandoned by seeing suffering, are only those to be abandoned by seeing suffering, and those to be abandoned by meditation are only those to be abandoned by meditation. The objects of view, doubt, and ignorance are all five lineages, therefore they are called general afflictions. Past and present

Regarding desire, anger, and pride, etc., without distinction, it should be understood that they are the respective six consciousnesses. "Regarding what" refers to the suffering and origin, as well as the cessation and path, referring to the three-time objects to be abandoned by the path of seeing, as well as the objects to be abandoned by the path of cultivation. "That object" refers to being combined with the object just mentioned, because they are afflictions with their own nature. Not everything of everything will arise, so it is specifically stated "from what is born." "Mind's those future pervade" means that the desires, etc., corresponding to consciousness, respectively, some are based on the past, some are based on the present, and some are based on the future, because the object of mind is the three times. "Others self-time" means that the desires, etc., of the five consciousnesses arise only based on their own time, therefore, the objects of those futures are only the future. The objects of the present are the present, and the objects of the past are the past, therefore, they only correspond to the objects within their own scope. "Non-arising ones' all" means that the desires, etc., of the five consciousnesses, which are non-arising dharmas, some have the past as their object, some have the present, and some have the future. Their objects are changing, because the afflictions of non-arising dharmas, like vines, only exist in the direction where the object manifests, therefore it is said that they pervade everything. "The rest all possess all" refers to the past, future, and present, etc. "Possess all" means that it corresponds to the five forms of objects in the three times. The reason for saying this is that afflictions are universal, and they arise from all things, therefore, past things also correspond to past, future, and present things. Similarly, future things and present things also correspond to past things.
