One thinks like this in the heart. Furthermore, the so-called "to be abandoned by seeing suffering" does not only mean clinging to Ishvara and others as the cause, but refers to... From that meaning, the source quoted in the scriptures is: "It is said in the scriptures..." and so on, which appears extensively. Here, if we examine whether "to be abandoned by seeing suffering" is because it is aimed at it, or because it is correct, then we will find that neither is the case. After thinking about it, the question is asked: "Therefore..." and so on, which appears extensively. The reason is that they have fallen into a wrong understanding of suffering, so it is said. Then, how do they fall into a wrong understanding of suffering? Because they do not understand correctly. The so-called "everything that is aimed at the contaminated..." and so on, appears extensively. Except for what is aimed at the uncontaminated, all afflictions are falling into a wrong understanding of suffering. Because all contaminated things are suffering, and they have an incorrect understanding of them, therefore they have fallen into error, so it is only to be abandoned by seeing suffering. If this is the case, then what should be abandoned by seeing the origin, cessation, path, and meditation will become unnecessary to abandon. Or, "holding morality and asceticism as supreme" and so on, appears extensively. Suppose this is because they have fallen into a wrong understanding of suffering, so it is to be abandoned by seeing suffering. Then, what else is there that has not fallen into a wrong understanding of suffering? One thinks like this in the heart. The so-called "what is the object to be abandoned by seeing the path" refers to the object to be abandoned by seeing the path, that is, the seven latent tendencies, which is what one wants to abandon the afflictions of its object by seeing the path. That is to say, "this is also falling into a wrong understanding of suffering," refers to the fact that the views and so on that should be abandoned by seeing the path are all included in the truth of suffering of the contaminated. Now, because it is unbearable to hold morality and asceticism as supreme as the object to be abandoned by seeing the path, it is said again, "For whom, is the object of the path a wrong view?" and so on. For which being, thinking that there is no path, or the being who has doubts about the path, does not have faith in the path of liberation, and has doubts in their heart.

If someone thinks: Does this path exist or not? When he hesitates, what will be the situation? He will believe that the wrong view that the truth of the path does not exist, and the doubt about whether the path exists or not, can purify himself. This is actually slandering all paths to liberation. Or, when he hesitates, how will he think that wrong views or doubts can purify himself? However, the so-called other paths to liberation are advocated by the Samkhya school and the naked ascetics. 'This path to liberation does not exist,' this is what the Tathagata said. 'Only through other paths,' this is what the Samkhya school and others advocate, not through the wrong view of slandering the path. Therefore, this is only aimed at the paths of the Samkhya school and others, not at what should be abandoned through seeing the path. In addition, 'whatever' etc. will be explained in detail. Why is holding precepts and asceticism as supreme also to be abandoned through seeing the path? This is because, 'what should be abandoned through seeing the origin and cessation are not those,' the meaning of this sentence is that it is aimed at the afflictions that should be abandoned through seeing the origin and cessation. Therefore, this principle should be examined. Because it is aimed at contaminated dharmas, does everything become what should be abandoned through seeing suffering? Or, because they are aimed at the views that should be abandoned through those, are there four types? Therefore, holding precepts and asceticism as supreme, there are only two types, not one type, nor four types, this principle should be examined. In order to answer this question, the following explanation is given. If, as you say, all that is aimed at contaminated dharmas mistakenly falls into suffering, it would be very excessive. But this is not the case, because some people mistakenly see contaminated things from the perspective of suffering, some from the perspective of arising, some mistakenly see cessation, and some mistakenly see the path. Holding precepts and asceticism is because of holding on to permanence and self, mistakenly falling into suffering, therefore, it should be abandoned through seeing its suffering. If someone mistakenly
