It shows that those who are separated from desire, when they want to have views, if they see that the practices that should be abandoned have not been abandoned, then they have not been abandoned. The Vaibhashikas say that this is not the case, because the non-Buddhists aim to be born up to the peak of existence. It is not reasonable that defilements that are practiced in desire will arise, because any of those who have entered the stream, etc., through the abandonment of what should be abandoned by seeing and meditating, will connect themselves in the desire realm. They are separated from desire because they have abandoned what should be abandoned by meditation, and they are separated from desire because they have not abandoned what should be abandoned by seeing. What is the reason for this? If that is the case, then how can those who are separated from desire have views that are directed towards the desire realm? The Vaibhashikas say that those views disappear at the same time as they arise, just like Devadatta. For example, Devadatta, in order to make the Sangha of monks his retinue, asked the Blessed One to rest for a while, and when the sinful thought arose, he completely lost his miraculous powers. Similarly, those views also completely disappeared when they arose. The terms "self" and "mine" will be explained in detail. Why are the five aggregates of clinging called the "perishable heap"? Therefore, it is said that it is to abandon the perception of permanence and the perception of wholeness. Grasping those as self is what precedes those, and the perception of permanence and the perception of wholeness are what precede. Separating from those will lead to separation from self-grasping, because without a cause, there is no result. "Perishable" is said to abandon the perception of permanence, and "heap" is to abandon the perception of wholeness. This is impermanent and a collection, and it is said to prevent grasping at it as self. All views that are directed towards what is contaminated are views of the perishable heap, and all five aspects are included. "Directed towards what is contaminated" is to distinguish it from what is directed towards what is uncontaminated. Perishable heap
