The so-called "is" refers to the five aggregates of appropriation. Since everything has the nature of destructible collections, why speak of self and what belongs to self? It is to show the absence of self and what belongs to self. For this very reason, one must realize that this is only the view of destructible collections, not self and what belongs to self. To make people understand this, it is said "is." Regarding the basis for this, it is as it is extensively explained in "Monks." Since holding to extremes is itself a view, holding to extremes is a view. Because there is no other view apart from that. For that very reason, it is said, "Holding to the extremes of permanence and annihilation." The so-called "all wrong views are wrong views" is because of wrong thoughts. The so-called "wrong views" is to exclude right views. The so-called "all" refers to the view of destructible collections, and so on. The so-called "because it has very serious faults," and so on, is like, for example, although ghee has a bad smell, if the bad smell of a certain ghee is particularly strong, it is called smelly ghee. The so-called "only one is spoken of" refers only to wrong views. Then, how is it understood that only one wrong view has serious faults? Therefore, it is said, "This is slander," because even though truths such as suffering exist, it is thought that they do not. The so-called "others are enhancements" refers to the view of destructible collections, and so on, because they enhance self, and so on. The so-called "because it is abandoned by the noble ones" means the reason for abandoning. The word "etc." is an unspoken meaning. For what reason is this not just holding a view as supreme, then what is it? It is the five aggregates of appropriation. Therefore, here, the word "etc." in "holding views, etc., as supreme" should be regarded as unspoken. The word "etc." in "entering fire and water," etc., includes fasting, entering dangerous places, jumping off cliffs, burning, pulling hair, and so on. The so-called "knowledge of Samkhya Yoga, etc." refers to understanding the difference between nature and person. Here, too, the word "etc." is used to summarize words.

Summarizing the complete understanding of the six meanings, etc. Here it is said that the word "also" hides the word "etc.". Discipline and asceticism are summarized as the form aggregate, clinging to the five aggregates of grasping, such as bondage and liberation. Therefore, the word "etc." is hidden. The word "proclaims" is said because only discipline and asceticism are determined in the sutra, so it shows that the word "etc." is inappropriate. If it is thought that the statement of regarding non-cause as cause will appear extensively, because this is wrongly entering into the arising of accumulation, then this can only be eliminated by seeing the accumulation, not by seeing suffering. Some think that the statement of regarding Ishvara or the Lord of Beings as cause will appear extensively, because recognizing them as the only one, self, and agent, one will regard Ishvara etc. as cause. Regarding the extensive appearance of "eternal to those", only at the time of directly realizing the sight of suffering can one obtain the knowledge of no-self, but not later. Because in this life, one discriminates the aspects of impermanence etc. of the truth of suffering, then at that time, whatever manifest clinging to Ishvara etc. as cause, that will be eliminated. Therefore, this can only be said to be eliminated by seeing suffering, not by seeing accumulation. As it is said: Because this person does not see suffering, therefore not seeing, he regards it as self. After truly knowing suffering, this person will no longer regard it as self. Why does merely seeing the Dharma reverse the view of self, and when it arises, one will be free from the view of self? Then, for those who enter into fire and water etc., because this is wrongly entering into the arising of accumulation, and does not rely on the perversions of eternal and self, it is thought that it should be eliminated by seeing accumulation. How is it to regard purification by discipline and asceticism? This is also wrongly entering into the path, and is not guided by the perversions of eternal and self, therefore it can only be eliminated by seeing the path.
