The reason for saying this is that there is a saying: as long as one lives, one should avoid killing and so on, which is a difference in mentality. Because of the power of definite abandonment at that time, it is not contradictory that the non-manifestation that continues to exist at that time. There is no need to set the difference of mentality in this way, therefore, this is not following the mind. Even if there is manifestation, there is such an extensive saying: even if one possesses manifestation, one will abandon non-manifestation, and abandonment is in the reality of the cause that follows the definite time. Relying on the power of mind is a synonym for "dependence." Saying the reason here is because of stupidity, meaning it is not clear. Non-manifestation cannot be abandoned without mind, and it is not clear because there is no object. In this way, manifestation relies on mind to abandon the three vows of great, medium, and small. Because there is no instruction from the scriptures, what is caused by afflictions cannot abandon non-manifestation. Verbal manifestation refers to verbal sound, in which the word "is" must be grasped, not by the difference of lip movement, etc., nor by the collection of names, etc. Therefore, it is said in detail what is the sound of the nature of speech. Non-manifestation is what was said before, that is, distraction and mindlessness, etc., which are said from the first chapter of the Abhidharmakosha. After vowing not to do it, just because of this reason, etc., it means that after vowing before saying "I will not do this," and later just because of not doing it, therefore non-manifestation is without manifestation, so one should not vow as a reality. Regarding the past four great elements, it is because there is the saying "Desire realm bound non-manifestation, in an instant, hereafter born from the past great elements," and those are also the nature of non-existence, because those past four great elements, just as they happened, are without self-nature. As the cause of

If the characteristic of form is spoken of, then it is also non-existent. Because there is no characteristic of form, the term "existing as form and suitable as form" refers to speaking of the characteristic of form through the aspect of showing transformation. Non-manifesting form is also not transformation, therefore it is non-existent. And so on, "The three stainless forms are spoken of" etc. occur. The Vaibhashikas say: The three stainless forms are spoken of, because of increase and unconditioned paths etc., non-manifesting form exists as substance. That is, the three forms and the stainless form are the three stainless forms. The explanation is, the three stainless forms are spoken of. Increase and the unconditioned path etc. are increase and unconditioned path etc. The three forms and the stainless form are spoken of, and increase and the unconditioned path etc., that is, the three stainless forms are spoken of, increase and unconditioned paths etc., are for the sake of those. The term "form is included by form" means that the second form is mentioned because only form can include form, not by other things such as feeling, in order to understand what must be definitely grasped. The term "there is visible and obstructive form" means that the form of the sense-sphere, the consciousness of the eye, should be understood. The term "there is invisible and obstructive form" means the sense faculties such as the eye. The term "there is also form that is neither visible nor obstructive" means non-manifesting form, included by the dharma-sphere. The term "there is also without outflows" means that other forms besides non-manifesting form cannot be without outflows, because those who have entered the path do not have the manifesting form of body and speech, although there are forms such as the eye, but because that is unobscured and not unspecified, and is completely with outflows, therefore it is not without outflows. These seven things that are the object of merit arising from substance will be explained in detail, here substance refers to monasteries and temples etc.
