It is not permissible to become Vipāka (ripening), because it is said, "Vipāka is not taught in the scriptures." What is called 'manifestly hearing' is manifestly becoming harmful. Here, the hell of reciting the lamenting mantra "Kyi hud sems (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思)" is taken as an example, which refers to a certain leader of thieves who had five hundred Pratyekabuddhas killed. As for "except for the Buddhas," the Buddhas do not have mental distractions, gradual passing away, slurred speech, or the birth of mutes, because they are the essence of the ripening of extremely pure karma. What is meant by "not by karma"? The noble ones have mental distractions, except for the imbalance of the elements. Why? Because it is certain that it has already ripened in the past, only in the state of ordinary beings. What is uncertain is that it will not ripen. What is uncertain is that by the power of the noble path, it abides in the nature of not ripening. What is meant by "completely transcending the five fears" is that it is completely transcended from the fears of feeling and lack of rhythm, as well as being famous in the retinue, death, and evil destinies. What is called 'unbeautiful' is a synonym for afflictions that are unpleasant. It appears as "because of manifestly knowing the nature of reality," in which the nature of reality is that all conditioned phenomena are impermanent, all contaminated phenomena are suffering, and all phenomena are selfless. Therefore, in this way, those who manifestly know the nature of phenomena do not experience sorrow. What is called qualities, faults, dregs, etc., and so on will appear. What is meant by "because it arises from a cause of deceit" is because it has a cause of deceit. What is deceit in the Sutras? It is the view of the wicked, therefore the view is said to be deceitful, therefore because it arises from that cause, wavering is called deceit. By establishing the result as the cause, the laziness of the body is explained. The action of the body, born from hatred, is said to be the fault of the body, and this is also because the result is established as the cause. What is meant by "because it arises from the cause of attachment" is, for example,
