Connected to a part, and entering into what is said to be completely encompassed by merit and subsequently connected. Being completely encompassed is called a synonym for habit. Why is it said to be subsequently connected with the superior intention of benefiting limitless sentient beings? It is to grasp the time not too long after arising. Abiding completely transformed is new, therefore it is called immaculate. Here, abiding completely transformed is because it has obtained the basis that contradicts the arising of afflictions to be abandoned by the path of seeing and the path of meditation. Saying 'new' is to summarize because it is not long after arising. Those newly arising from the path of seeing and the state of Arhat will only focus on the joy of the mind because they have obtained qualities that were not previously obtained. Therefore, the senses of those people become very peaceful. Why is it that benefiting or harming those five types of individuals with those causes will become the cause of the result to be experienced in this very life? Because the nature and result are not yet fully complete, for the path of meditation, the nature and result are not yet fully complete, that is, those whose nature and result are not yet fully complete. What is that path of meditation? It is the path by which the fruit of once-returner and non-returner are obtained. There, because the path of meditation is not yet fully complete, and because the result of abandoning the afflictions to be abandoned by meditation is not yet fully complete. The fruit of stream-enterer is because the path of seeing is fully complete, and because the result of abandoning what is to be abandoned by the path of seeing is fully complete. And the fruit of Arhat is also because the path of meditation is fully complete, and because the result of abandoning the afflictions to be abandoned by meditation is fully complete. Thus, it is not a field of merit. Those such as once-returners and non-returners arise from the uncontaminated path of meditation, but even so, they are not fields of merit. What need is there to mention those who arise from the worldly path? Because that is certainly with investigation and analysis, this is called the aspect encompassed by the feeling of the body.

That is maturation, and having thought and investigation is the five aggregates of consciousness, because it is certain. Displeasure is not maturation, regarding this, from the consideration of the faculties, except for the last eight and displeasure, it has already been explained there. Then the phrase "of sentient beings" will appear in detail, if displeasure is not maturation, then what is the distraction of the minds of sentient beings? On what does that mind reside? It is the distraction of the mind residing on the consciousness of the mind. It does not reside on the five aggregates of consciousness, because they have no thought, and distraction is not a true constant. The absence of conceptualization is because there is no definitive conceptualization and no conceptualization of recollection. "Forest" refers to a collection of grass. "The son of the caretaker" etc. refers to the distraction of the mind due to the sorrow born from the death of the son, etc. If the consciousness of the mind is distracted, and the distraction of the mind is also born from the maturation of karma. If the feeling of the mind is not maturation, how can it be said that the mind itself is maturation? Regarding "it is not said so" etc., from the perspective of the lord's result, it is mental distraction, but not from the perspective of the maturation result, therefore it is thought that displeasure, which is in accordance with it, is not maturation. Therefore, in the summary verses, it should be said "born from karma," but it is said "born from the maturation of karma." How is it said? It is said in detail, "the elements born from karma are disturbed," because it is manifested indirectly, so it is not maturation, just like sound. In that case, a fourfold reasoning will arise. Regarding "there is also non-distraction in mental distraction" etc., among them, distraction is afflicted. "Distraction" refers to being distracted by fear etc., and is a synonym for "bewilderment." Here, the example is that both are afflicted with mental distraction. Afflicted mind
