As determined by karma, efforts made to produce fruit are in vain. Eliminate the encounter of eating and not eating. The term "those forms" is synonymous with forms such as white cloth. Therefore, it can be understood that it is called "mine" on the aggregates. For the body that benefits me, there is also attachment to me, and so on will occur. Although there is attachment to me for beneficial things, it is not clinging to me. Why is that? It is not like thinking, "This is me." What does "That person has come" mean? It means the master. For example, whose master is like what? For example, like a black cow. How is this its master? Because it depends on being used for plowing and milking, etc. Where should clinging to self be applied? How to find this master? In the sense of what should be clung to as self. Why should it be applied? In order to cling to self. Alas, that thing is applied for that meaning. Those skilled in speech praised the increase of the decline of merit. How should it be applied? Is it through the way of increase, or through the way of dispatch? Because it is not possible to go to clinging to self, it is through the way of increase. If that is the case, then only the cause is the master, and only the effect is the servant. Just as the cause dominates the effect, and the effect is also connected to the cause, therefore the cause of clinging to self is its own. The first example, "The tree has blossomed," is for the tenet that does not consider trees to have branches, because they do not consider the four great elements to be composed of different kinds. For trees with branches, the second example is "The forest has borne fruit." The word forest is not there at all. Just as in the forest, where gatherings of sala trees and palm trees bear fruit, similarly, for the basis of the nature of the six sense bases, where happiness or suffering arises, it is called happiness or suffering. Thus it is said, because those have changed, there is change. The basis is the eye, etc.

Therefore, it has been explained how the six sense bases are the support. If there is no self, then who is the agent of actions? Who is the enjoyer of the fruits? Such questions will arise. By what explanation will the statement of the agent and the enjoyer be extensively explained? Does the enjoyment of actions or fruits depend on the self? Therefore, there is no independent agent or enjoyer. There are only causes and effects, and they are merely designated as agents or enjoyers. As it is said: From the stream of body and mind, actions and their two fruits arise, called various beings, and they are said to be agents and enjoyers. If the agent is the self, then it should be established, because it does not exist and because it is permanent, like space. If it is said to be the stream of the five aggregates, then that is the agent. The nature of the five aggregates is the agent, not the self, so our position is established. Moreover, to show that there is no independence in that either, it is extensively stated that actions are of three types, etc. Among them, actions of body and speech, etc., are performed under the influence of the mind, because they are strongly driven by the mind. As it is said: It generates actions of body and speech. The mind also acts under the influence of the body, because body and mind are mutually dependent. It also acts under the influence of its own causes, because mind, objects, attention, etc., are under the influence of others. The statement that it is similar to that means that the mind's own cause also acts under the influence of other causes. Therefore, whether it is body, speech, mind, or other causes, none of them are independent. The mind and mental factors are caused by four, the two attainments are caused by three, and the others arise from the two, not from Isvara, etc., because of the order, etc. Because it is said in this way, all things act under the influence of conditions. Also, we do not accept that the self is the cause of the arising of the distinction of wisdom without dependence, so it is not established as independent. How is it? Because it depends on the distinction of mind and contact, etc. Thus,
