These should be regarded as similar to the second liberation through the gate of distinctions such as self-nature. Furthermore, the term "like the liberation of impurity" refers to the four overcoming places, which are like the liberation of impurity through the gate of distinctions of self-nature, earth, and form. The phrase "they are merely turned away" means that the liberations are merely turned away from the object, not overcoming the object. But the overcoming places are not only turned away, but what are they? They also overcome the object. The phrase "because of believing as desired" means believing in blue and yellow, etc., as desired, and believing in discoloration and blackness, etc. The phrase "in order not to generate afflictions" means that if one holds impurity towards all afflicted things, and afflictions are not generated, then they have overcome the object. There are ten pervasions. What are the ten? Some people think, "The pervasion is earth," that is, there is none above, below, or in the four directions, and they contemplate it as immeasurable. Similarly, water, fire, wind, blue, yellow, red, white, space, and the sphere of pervasive consciousness are also like this. These are the ten pervasions. The phrase "uninterruptedly increasing the pervasion" will be explained as follows: For the nature of uninterruptedness and non-separation, everything that was previously believed is firmly increased, which is synonymous with "pervading." How is it understood? For example, believing that "the earth is boundless," and so on, should also be said up to the sphere of consciousness. Therefore, like this, uninterruptedly and without separation, it is increased, and because of the abiding of the mind, it is called pervasion. Among them, "earth" refers to the object. "Pervasion" refers to the form. Although these forms are the same, they are different because the objects are different. "Some people" refers to whoever can enter into samadhi, can enter into samadhi on these. "Contemplation" means showing that this is believing in the mind, not so.

That is said to be fully understood. The two, above and below and directly facing, refer to what and what to apply the mind to. Non-duality means applying the mind without interruption. Immeasurable means believing infinitely. This is a description of the mind of a yogi who is well-versed in meditation, a description of mastery. Eight non-attachments refer to the four kinds of pervasiveness, namely the four, blue, etc., which are the distinctive nature of the latter four of the overcoming places. The door of color, etc., which is the basis, through the pervasiveness of the earth's place of birth, etc., those with earth, etc., as the object are also called the nature of non-attachment. The edge of meditation means that it arises from the combination of the latter four of the overcoming places. The realm of the eight is the realm of form that is practiced in the desire realm. If you ask, how is the object of the place of birth of pervasiveness the realm of form? Because there is a difference between earth, etc., and the realm of earth, etc., these are called the place of birth of pervasiveness earth, etc., but not the realm of pervasiveness earth, etc. Earth, etc., are also the nature of color and shape, so they are not contradictory as the object of the realm of form. Some say that wind is the place of birth of the touch, which refers to those who think that wind is form. Therefore, in the first chapter of the Abhidharmakośa, it is said that wind is the aggregate realm, according to their view. There are also some who say that it is similar to that, according to their view, just like earth, etc., wind is only the realm of form, because it is the nature of color and shape. The last two places of birth of pervasiveness are the nature of formless purity, and the object of these two is one's own four aggregates. Liberation arises from entering into concentration, which is spoken of extensively, and entering into concentration itself arises from entering into concentration, just as one's own benefit increases and changes. Because these overcoming places have liberation and entering into concentration, these are born from liberation and entering into concentration. Similarly, the pervasiveness of
