How is it known? Because there is no eye consciousness. If someone is free from desire for any object, then they must also be free from desire for the consciousness that grasps that object. In the second dhyana and so on, there is no eye consciousness and so on, therefore, it can be established that they are free from desire for color. The third, "ultimate," refers to: the liberation of the impure is not present in the first and second dhyanas, nor is it present in the third dhyana, because it is driven by the essence of happiness, it is impossible to have a thought of turning away from it. Therefore, the third dhyana is determined to be the only ultimate state, and it is also non-attached, because it is the antidote to attachment. These, together with their retinue, are the nature of the five aggregates. Here, the form aggregate is the form that follows. Others say that there are also unequal situations, which is said in consideration of the mind and mental factors born from Vipaka. Still others say that it is not so, because it is said from the perspective of virtue. The path of approaching liberation, that is, the path of approaching liberation of the formless liberations that is described in detail, also obtains the name "liberation," but the uninterrupted path does not, because it is based on the lower realm. The meaning of liberation is the meaning of turning away. The first is to turn away from the desire for color. The third is the impure. The formless is to turn away from the entry into the lower realm and all objects. "Perception and feeling" refers to turning away from perception and turning away from feeling. "Turning away from all formations" means turning away from the entry into all objects. Others say that it is because of liberation from the obscuration of Samapatti. The obscuration of Samapatti refers to the fact that if there is some obscuration, even those who have already become detached from the desire of the three realms, the mind is not competent.

It is also not possible to generate the actual basis of the first dhyana, because of liberation from that obscuration, and because of abandonment it is called liberation. Even more so, to make the dharma subtle means to make it extremely subtle by focusing on cessation. "As appropriate" refers to the location of the first and second dhyanas, the unpleasantness of the two, because of focusing on the all-encompassing, etc. The third is pleasant, because it enters into the aspect of suffering. "One's own location and the suffering of the higher realms" means that the object of liberation in the sphere of infinite space is the suffering of one's own location, and the location of the sphere of infinite consciousness, etc., but not the lower location, because it says, "The object of experience of formless reality is not the lower contaminated one." Similarly, the remaining formless liberations should also be spoken of as appropriate. "Its cause and cessation" means that the cause of suffering, the origin and cessation, of one's own location and the higher location are the objects, but not the cause of suffering of the lower location and its cessation. "All paths in accordance with the aspect of subsequent knowledge" means that they are appropriately included by one's own location and the higher, as well as the lower. "Cessation by non-discrimination is also" means that the formless virtues of formless liberation are the object of non-discriminating cessation of the signless samadhi of the non-learner, except for the three access states, as it says. Signlessness is the nature of signless samadhi, but it is the object of non-discriminating cessation of the signless of the non-learner. "Space is also the only one" means that the liberation of the sphere of infinite space is the object of contamination. Because it is moved by the essence of bliss, the essence of bliss is the essence of bliss, which is a synonym for being called the lord of all bliss. Because it is moved by it, it is shaken. Because one is universally distracted by the abundant bliss in the third dhyana, one is unable to generate liberation.
