Without meditative absorption, there is no activity, because there is no form there. Emanations belonging to the desire realm are: what is called 'external' means that the internal sense bases do not emanate, because sentient beings that did not exist before will come into being from them. The emanation of sound does not exist, because the continuity is interrupted. 'Related to oneself and others' bodies' means related to one's own body and related to others' bodies. 'Just like that' means that just as in the desire realm there is a relationship with one's own and others' bodies, so too in the form realm there is a relationship with one's own body and others' bodies, which are called two types. This is called the four types of emanation, which refers to those born in the desire realm. 'It is similar in the form realm as well' means that those born in the form realm also, belonging to the desire realm and belonging to the form realm, are related to one's own body and related to others' bodies. 'It is eight types' means that there are four types born in the desire realm and four types born in the form realm, making eight types. 'In short' means that in detail it is limitless. 'How is it not associated with smell and taste?' means that if those born in the form realm, when acting in the desire realm, only emanate the four sense bases, how is it that the emanation related to one's own body is not associated with smell and taste? 'It is not associated like clothes and ornaments' means that just as clothes and ornaments, which are not counted as sentient beings, are not associated with one's own body, so too they are not associated with emanation. Others say that two sense bases are emanated, meaning that only the sense bases of form and touch related to one's own body are emanated, therefore they are not associated with smell and taste. Similarly, the grounds of the third and fourth dhyanas should also be combined with four and five. How so? The result of the third dhyana is four, namely the desire realm and the first, second, and third dhyana grounds. The result of the fourth dhyana is five, namely the desire realm and the first, second, third, and fourth dhyana grounds.

It is said that "it is also particularly superior in terms of progression," which means that the fruits of the Emanation that acts in the Desire Realm, such as the meditative grounds, are, in order, to enter the Second Dhyana, the Third Dhyana, and the Fourth Dhyana. And the fruit of the First Dhyana enters the First Dhyana itself. The Emanation of the fruit of the First Dhyana cannot cause the Emanation of the fruit of the Second Dhyana to enter the ground of the Third Dhyana, and the Emanation of the fruit of the Second Dhyana cannot enter the ground of the Third Dhyana, and so on, which is the same. As for "like that attainment of Dhyana," how is Dhyana attained? It is explained as being through detachment from desire and arising. As for "abiding in the fruit of Samadhi," the fruit of Samadhi is the mind of Emanation, because it is the nature of the path of liberation, or because it is the fruit of Abhijna. Compared to the higher ground, it is the ground of the First Dhyana that allows speech, and beyond that, in the Second Dhyana and so on, there is no mind that causes the manifestation of consciousness, and there is no mind with investigation and analysis. As for "how does this allow speech," what is the thought? The mind of Emanation ceases, and the mind that allows speech arises, and when the mind of Emanation ceases, the Emanation ceases, because these two minds do not exist simultaneously, therefore it is said, "how does it allow speech." "Having blessed, then causing another to enter," means that the mind of Emanation causes the Emanation to emanate. Then, later, the mind of blessing is made manifest, and by this the Emanation is blessed, and later the mind that causes the manifestation of consciousness is made manifest, thereby allowing speech. Here it is said: If the mind of blessing becomes manifest, and the mind of Emanation becomes invisible, why does the Emanation not become invisible? To this it should be said: Following the previous stream of thought, thereby the Emanation emanates. It is to be blessed. It is to be made to speak, thinking in this way, it is set in the mind beforehand. Because it is possible to bless in two states, the question arises as to whether it is only to living beings that blessing is given, and so on. Arya Kashyapa.

“Great Blessing” is a synonym for the faith of the great noble Light Protector. Initially, many are one. The detailed explanation is that if one initially engages in practice, then many emanated minds will manifest one emanation, accompanied by closeness to the emanation. When clairvoyance is perfected, it is not a time of one mind. The emanation mind is the fruit of meditation, and the two forms obtained by birth, so what are all the emanation minds? The detailed explanation is that the (emanation mind) arising from meditation is not predicted. It means that one born in a higher realm, in order to manifest the emanation mind of a lower realm being, is therefore not predicted. There are three types arising from birth. It means that yakshas, etc., sometimes manifest forms in order to harm others, and sometimes in order to benefit others, etc., it should be understood in this way. What they have done is explained in detail as what is done by seeing, etc., and the emanation done by birth, the ninth place related to the self and other continuums is. Why? Because it is a soundless form place. Because there are soundless form places there, such as the eye, etc., so from the perspective of name it is the ninth place, but from the perspective of substance it is not. Sound does not emanate because it is impermanent, and because the emanation is mindless, so there are no mind and dharma places either. The emanation is mindless, why is this? The scriptures say, should the emanation be said to be with mind, or should it be said to be without mind? The answer is, it is without mind. If the faculties also emanate, then the faculties are counted as sentient beings, so how can a sentient being that did not exist before arise? Therefore it is said, because there is no difference from the faculties. The fourth emanation place arises without difference from the faculties such as the eye, etc., because it is related to one's own body. Therefore it is said to be the ninth place. The meaning that the faculties do not emanate is, completely
