I and towns, etc., cause the unvictorious to be victorious; the victorious ones, abide as they are. Thus, with the uninterrupted path, regarding the aggregates of decay, etc., for those who have not overcome the afflictions, they are made victorious by severing the means of obtaining them; with the path of liberation, the victorious ones abide as they are through the means of arising simultaneously with the attainment of freedom from afflictions. The saying "for increase and decrease," what is it? It is said to be in accordance with the Dharma wheel. Increase is going upwards, regarding the suffering of the higher realms, etc. Decrease is also regarding the enjoyment of the desire realm. It is like that with swift going, etc. The saying "Right view, right thought, right effort, and right mindfulness are like spokes" is dependent on discipline, and is similar to spokes, etc., because of entering. The saying "Right speech, right action, and right livelihood" are like the hub, because right view, etc., depend on it for entering, and discipline is the cause. The saying "Samadhi is like the rim" is because that samadhi can hold right view, etc. The saying "From where does this come?" means, is the saying that the path of seeing is the Dharma wheel your own intention? Or does it come from the scriptures? It is not my own intention. How is it? It is said that "to the noble Kaundinya," etc., appears. The saying "after he was born" is because it is said in the sutra. How is it? It is said that "the earth-dwelling yakshas, etc., make a sound, the venerable Ajnata Kaundinya has known the Dharma" making a sound and proclaiming it, and it is explained in detail. In Varanasi, in the Deer Park where the sages fell, the Bhagavan turned the wheel of Dharma three times, in twelve aspects, and it is explained in detail. How is that the three turnings, etc.? The saying "This is suffering" is one turning. The saying "It should be completely known" is the second. The saying "It has been completely known" is the third, which is the three turnings. In each turning, eyes, etc., are born.

Yāvalā! The wisdom without outflows is the eye because it manifestly enters. It is knowledge because there is no doubt. It is intelligence because of the correct meaning. It is perfectly pure wisdom. It should be said similarly for arising and so forth. For each truth, it is the same as that, called threefold repetition and twelve aspects. How is it? This is suffering, the noble truth. It should be completely known. It has been completely known. If for each truth, it is the same as that, threefold repetition and twelve aspects, then it would become twelvefold repetition and forty-eight aspects. Why is it said as threefold repetition and twelve aspects? Although that is true, it is because the three groups and twelve are in accordance with the Dharma. Because the three groups are in accordance with the Dharma, and because the twelve are in accordance with the Dharma, therefore it is said as threefold repetition and twelve aspects. Saying "showing expertise in two and seven places" is like showing two and showing expertise in seven places. As it is said, "I will show you two, listen well and keep it in mind," thus it is said. What are the two? It is like what is said from "eye and forms, etc." to "mind and dharmas, etc." Similarly, showing expertise in seven places is to completely know form as it truly is. And the arising of form, the cessation of form, the path to the cessation of form, the taste of form, the escape from form, and the faults of form are also completely known as they truly are. Feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness are also the same as that. Just as two is spoken because two is in accordance with the Dharma, and just as expertise in seven places is spoken because expertise in the seven places of each aggregate is in accordance with the Dharma, so here also, because three and twelve are in accordance with the Dharma, therefore threefold repetition and twelve aspects are spoken. These repetitions mentioned in the sutra show the path of seeing, the path of cultivation, and the path of no more learning in order. How is it done? Saying "This is suffering, the noble truth" is seeing.
