It is for the sake of abiding in the path of the capable one. Thus it is said: All of these exist only in the path of fruition, because it is encompassed by the path of cultivation. The two fruits obtained by the worldly path refer to the fruit of once-returner and the fruit of non-returner. The word "that" explains in detail, saying: They are the fruits of the path of no outflows, which are the elimination of very many, but not the fruits of the worldly path itself, because they also encompass the elimination of the fruits of the path of seeing. Therefore, they are the fruits of the ascetic's conduct, thus it will be taught. "All" means: the fruit of the path of seeing and the fruit of the path of cultivation. "Having obtained one encompassed by the fruit of that attainment" means: in order to obtain, it refers to obtaining one encompassed by the attainment of the fruit of once-returner and non-returner. Therefore, it is explained in detail in the sutra, because all the attainments of the fruits of the path of seeing and the path of cultivation, having obtained one encompassed by the fruit of that attainment, therefore, the sutra explains in detail what is the fruit of once-returner. If it were not so, it would not be said, because having gradually and mostly separated from desire, the three universally binding fetters have already been eliminated. Desire, hatred, and ignorance are weakened because only that much remains. Having eliminated the five corresponding to the lower fetters, except for the seventh grade of desire and the universally binding fetter of malice, the three fetters such as the view of the aggregates, etc., are already eliminated by the stream-enterer alone. If the attainment of liberation does not arise, then what is said becomes meaningless. The attainment of liberation is without outflows, as it is said: Worldly detachment, noble detachment, two kinds of attainment. Thus it is said, therefore, for the elimination of the fruit of the worldly path, eight similar attainments of liberation without outflows arise, and they will hold its elimination. Just as a palace is a substance of samsara, but it is stamped with the king's seal.

It is like saying that it belongs to someone who did not accumulate it. "By its power" means by the power of detachment and attainment, without outflows. As for "completely extinguished, not dying," here it is thought that complete possession is like this: from the result, extinguished, there is no death. And so on will appear. If it were not so, like worldly people who are free from desire, they would die, then complete extinction would be not dying. The nature of Brahma is the state of Brahma, therefore it becomes Brahma. As for "for the sake of abandoning afflictions," for example, just as this makes sinful and unwholesome dharmas pacified, so it is a śrāmaṇa, therefore this abandons sinful and unwholesome dharmas, so it is Brahma, because it is said to be the characteristic of pacification and abandonment, so the śrāmaṇa itself is Brahma. As for "because it possesses the unsurpassed state of Brahma," it is because it possesses the unsurpassed path without outflows. That is also called Brahma. This is like an example. As for "because its wheel is this," if you ask what the relationship is? The answer is: therefore it is said "because it revolves." As for "for the sake of going quickly, there are spokes etc.," it means the general term for the sake of going quickly etc., and for the sake of spokes etc. This explains that the path of seeing is similar to the precious wheel, just as the precious wheel goes quickly, so the path of seeing also goes quickly because it manifests the truth in fifteen moments. As for "for the sake of abandoning and entering," just as the precious wheel does not abandon the back and enters the front, so the path of seeing also abandons the uninterrupted path, and enters the path of liberation in the manner of manifestation. Or, for the sake of abandoning the objects of suffering etc., and entering the objects of origin etc., so it is abandoning and entering. It is similar to the wheel because it does not see the truth simultaneously. As for "making the unvictorious victorious, and making the victorious abide," what does this mean? It is similar to the precious wheel, just as it...
