The way of teaching is aimed at counteracting the enemies of the lower grounds, and this method is only applicable to the grounds of meditation. Furthermore, it is said that the differences are very large due to the differences in lineage and faculties. If asked, how to understand? For the time being, the vajra-like samadhi that corresponds to the aspect of impermanence has six different characteristics in terms of lineage differences; in terms of the differences between dull, medium, and sharp faculties, there are three different characteristics. For others that correspond to the aspects of suffering and so on, it should be distinguished in the same way according to the differences in lineage and faculties. As for "knowing exhaustion," from what is it known? Because it is said at the beginning that it arises simultaneously with the attainment of the exhaustion of all defilements. For example, just as it is said that "what exists at the beginning is the beginning," it means "first." Therefore, it will be explained that "knowing exhaustion is the wisdom that arises simultaneously with the attainment of the exhaustion of all defilements at the very beginning." Because the words in between are not manifest, it is like a vajra ring. Other liberation wisdom also arises simultaneously with the attainment of exhaustion, but those that do not arise simultaneously with the attainment of the exhaustion of all defilements are not knowing exhaustion. As for "knowing non-arising," although it arises simultaneously with the attainment of the exhaustion of all defilements, it is not knowing exhaustion because it is not at the very beginning. If someone has already abandoned some defilements during the stage of learning, then why is it said that "because it arises simultaneously with the attainment of the exhaustion of all defilements"? Although abandonment is true, the attainment of separation from those previously abandoned will arise again, because there is a saying that "from the fruit, abandoning the previous path, and obtaining others and the sum of exhaustion." As for "because there is no need to learn for the sake of other fruits," if for those in the state of no-more-learning, there is also the attainment of other fruits through the transformation of faculties, because there is a saying that "through increase, special fruits are obtained," then this does not exist, because just like the once-returner and the non-returner, that is not another fruit. Where the name of the previous fruit with a cause is abandoned, and the frui

If it is known that what is named with the name of having the cause of the future is another fruit, then even if the Arhat has thus transformed his faculties, he will not abandon his former name. Even if his faculties have transformed, he is still the Arhat as before, so there is no attainment of another fruit. The reason for saying "because of that" is because that has completely accomplished its own benefit. Completely accomplishing one's own benefit, etc., is very suitable for accomplishing the benefit of others. The reason for saying "because it is worthy of being offered to all those with desire" is that those with desire refer to ordinary beings and learners. Those beings who have not given rise to the knowledge of the cessation of the person are called learners. Therefore, it is established that the seven persons mentioned earlier are learners. Those mentioned are the four who have entered the stream and the three who abide in the fruit. If asked, by what reason is it said that these seven persons are learners? Therefore, it is said, "because they have the nature of learning in order to exhaust defilements." If asked, what is being learned? It is the three trainings. It is explained in detail that those are the higher morality, etc. The training that is primarily about morality is higher morality. It is the same between higher mind and higher wisdom. What is the nature of those? It is said that they are the nature of morality, samadhi, and wisdom. An ordinary being can also become a learner. If asked, is it also learning about morality, samadhi, and wisdom? No, it is not. Because they do not truly understand the true truths as they are. An ordinary being is spoken of in terms of the situation. Thus, after explaining the training of higher morality and higher mind, if asked, what is the training of higher wisdom? From "This is the noble truth of suffering" to fully understand as it is, up to "This is the noble truth of the path leading to the cessation of suffering" it is said to understand as it is. Because an ordinary being does not have the stainless wisdom of fully understanding as it is.
