would be considered similar, because the fourth dhyana does not have nine aspects. Among those nine aspects, being free from desire is what approaches the formless realm. For the case of transferring upwards, it is also similar to this, that is, for the cases of after birth, with effort and without effort, and transferring upwards, it should also be applied as before, through the differences of different places, kinds, being free from desire, and faculties. Here, transferring upwards refers to approaching the form realm, not approaching the formless realm. Precisely for this reason, here in the fourth dhyana, being free from desire in the ninth aspect is not counted, because that is what approaches the formless realm. Therefore, if that is the case, the non-returner approaching the form realm would have five classifications, namely: completely passing into nirvana in the intermediate state, completely passing into nirvana after birth, completely passing into nirvana with effort, completely passing into nirvana without effort, and transferring upwards. If all are added together, there are one hundred twenty-nine thousand nine hundred sixty non-returners, which means multiplying the two thousand five hundred ninety-two who completely pass into nirvana in the intermediate state by five. Through the method described above, one should understand the classification of non-returners approaching the formless realm (except for those who completely pass into nirvana in the intermediate state), because the limit of the formless realm is only limited to four kinds of birth. It is said that exhausting the eight obstructions of the peak of existence is entering the state of an arhat, which means exhausting the eight aspects of the peak of existence, because the fruit of an arhat is the result that immediately follows it. "The ninth uninterrupted path is also." What does this mean? Combining with the context, it means "entering the state of an arhat." Because the fruit of an arhat is obtained on the path of liberation. "That is like a vajra." This means that (he) thinks that the uninterrupted path that eliminates the ninth affliction of the peak of existence is like a vajra. Because this is similar to a vajra, it is a vajra.

For example, for that very reason, it is said, "Because it destroys all subtle increases." Just as a vajra destroys everything, so too does this samadhi destroy all subtle increases, showing that this is the same as a vajra in terms of Dharma. It is not that it destroys everything because it has already been destroyed, but because it has already abandoned the eight aspects of the peak of existence. If you ask, "Then how is it said that it destroys all subtle increases?" Therefore, it is said, "Because it is able to destroy everything," meaning that it is spoken of in consideration of existence, thinking in this way. As the Bhagavan said, speaking in consideration of existence, "If these sala trees also dwell near the upavasatha with eight branches, they will also be endowed with merit." As it is said from elsewhere, a vajra can also destroy everything, because it is the most excellent among all uninterrupted paths. It is spoken of in consideration of existence. The distinctions of vajras, etc., are said to have many aspects, because one attains Arhatship by relying on the ninth ground. "Collected by the invincible" means that when one relies on the invincible and generates dispassion for the peak of existence, the vajra is like being collected by the invincible. The suffering and arising that are the objects of the peak of existence, extensively speaking, are relying on the invincible and focusing on the suffering and arising of the peak of existence, etc., or when contemplating the aspects of causes, etc., there are eight that are consistent with the aspects of following knowledge of suffering and arising. From the difference of being consistent with the aspect of wisdom, there are eight, namely, being consistent with the four aspects of suffering and the four aspects of arising. There are eight that are consistent with the nine aspects of Dharma knowledge on cessation and the path, which means there are four that are consistent with the four aspects of Dharma knowledge on cessation, and four that are consistent with the four aspects of Dharma knowledge on the path. Consistent with the aspects of following knowledge on cessation
