No. If it is said that it is for the sake of obtaining the first fruit, then in most cases, regarding "also free from desire" and so on, the sixth aspect is exhausted by the worldly path. If the noble path is manifested later, then at that time he is a once-returner, and that is also a stream-enterer. Similarly, being free from desire from the desire realm by the worldly path is also the non-returner of the sixteen minds, not the stream-enterer. That is also the first fruit, so if it is said that it is to become a stream-enterer, then this is not the desire realm. It is mentioned "obtaining all fruits" and so on, because he has the state of obtaining all fruits such as stream-entry, so he is obtaining all fruits, and from then on, because he obtains the fruit, he is called a stream-enterer. Saying "for the sake of obtaining the path of stream-entry and fruit," the path of stream-entry is characterized by fifteen moments. The path of fruit is the subsequent knowledge of the path. The eighth only obtains the path of stream-entry, but not the path of fruit. Saying "for the sake of obtaining the path of seeing and the path of cultivation," the path of seeing is fifteen moments. The path of cultivation is the subsequent knowledge of the path, which can only be obtained by the stream-enterer, but not by the eighth, who is a follower of faith or a follower of Dharma. Saying "for the sake of realizing all stream-enterers," it is because even the moment of forbearance of subsequent knowledge of the path is seen, therefore, also for this reason, only he is a stream-enterer, and the eighth is not. Just like saying "skilled in the seven places" and "seven leaves," it is like saying that a monk is skilled in the seven places. How is it said? Monks, how can it be said that a monk is skilled in the seven places? He says, he knows form exactly as it is. He also knows exactly as it is the arising of form, the cessation of form, the path leading to the cessation of form, the taste of form, the faults, and the departure. Similarly, he also knows exactly as it is feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness.

It should also be said to those who understand these things. In this way, one becomes proficient in the thirty-five places. Even though there are hundreds and thousands of leaves, because they are consistent in groups of seven, that tree is called the seven-leaved tree. The first example is derived from the scriptures, and the second is known to worldly people, and that is the difference. If gods and humans each connect in seven existences, then how does this not contradict what is said in the sutras, such as "a person with perfect view"? "In one destiny" means that in the destiny of gods or the destiny of humans, the eighth existence will not manifest. However, if examined according to the literal meaning, then the intermediate existence is also acceptable, therefore, it is certain that the phrase "in one destiny" is intentional. Even so, the upward transfer up to the peak of existence will widely appear, upward transfer, death transfer in all places, continuing through one destiny, other births manifest, because there is the saying, "When that burns, half leaps, all ends, death migrates to the peak of another existence." If someone asks: Because there is such a saying, it is said because it is considering the desire realm. It is said, "because it is said considering the desire realm." In one destiny, whether it is the destiny of gods in the desire realm, or the destiny of humans, the eighth existence will not manifest, but it is not so in the form realm and the formless realm. Regarding this, what sutra or reasoning is there to understand? From where can it be understood that this is said considering the desire realm, that this is said considering the desire realm? It is not said so in the sutras. Who immediately said "there are seven times each in gods and humans"? Like this, "the gods" etc. will widely appear. In this way, it contradicts the views of the Vaibhashikas, and in order to shape the works of the teachers, the "Protectors of Light" are widely mentioned. It should be understood that according to the views of the Vaibhashikas, these are also separate. If it were not so, then it would only be said "there are seven times in gods and humans," and it would not be said "there are seven times in the gods, and seven times in the humans."
