No. Therefore, it is said, "If one does not see for a single moment, one cannot see the truth." The worldly example is explained by saying, "It is like not reaping the field if one does not cut a single blade of grass." Because it is a fruit, it is said that the subsequent knowledge of the path is included in the fruit of stream-entry. Therefore, because it is a fruit, it is certain that it is a path of cultivation like the once-returner fruit, etc. Because one obtains eight knowledges and sixteen aspects, it is said that at the time of subsequent knowledge of the path, one obtains eight knowledges and sixteen aspects. The so-called four knowledges of dharma and four subsequent knowledges, and the sixteen aspects, from the four aspects of suffering to the four aspects of the path, are like other paths of cultivation. In the path of seeing, one only obtains equal shares of knowledge and aspects. Therefore, the subsequent knowledge of the path is only the path of cultivation. Because the previous path is completely lost, it means "because the path of stream-entry is completely lost." Like the path of the once-returner and non-returner fruits, the path of stream-entry is completely abandoned in the path of cultivation, but not in the path of seeing. The subsequent knowledge of the path is the abandonment of the path of stream-entry, therefore it is also the path of cultivation. Because it is continuous, it is said that this subsequent knowledge of the path is continuous like other paths of cultivation, but in the path of seeing, there is no continuity of either forbearance or knowledge. Therefore, the subsequent knowledge of the path is the path of cultivation. If the subsequent knowledge of the path is the path of cultivation, how can it not be completely lost? Therefore, it is said, "It is not completely lost because it correctly holds the abandonment to be abandoned by the path of seeing," meaning that it correctly holds the abandonment to be abandoned by the path of seeing. The antidote to the basis is the path of liberation, which has already been explained in the fifth chapter of the Abhidharmakosha. Only the subsequent knowledge of the path can correctly hold the abandonment of what is to be abandoned by the path of seeing, therefore it will not be completely lost from it.
