That is what I thought. To this, the teacher said that because it is the nature of arising and ceasing, one should view it as impermanent. Because it is not permanent. Because it is disagreeable, it is said to be suffering, which is a synonym for unpleasant. To explain how it becomes suffering because it is disagreeable, it is said that if one sees impermanence, because it becomes disagreeable, the aspect of impermanence will lead to the aspect of suffering. Because impermanence itself is disagreeable, that is why it is said that way. It is not because there is no difference between the aspects of impermanence and suffering. How does the aspect of impermanence not lead to the aspect of suffering in the path truth? Like this, only the truth of suffering is refuted by the aspect of impermanence, but not the truth of the path. Why is it not refuted? Because it is seen as a virtue. Some say that it refers to venerable Kamalashila and others. What the Blessed One said will appear extensively. Whatever feeling there is, it refers to encompassing all feelings, therefore realizing that all feelings are suffering. If there is indeed a truly happy feeling, then how did the Blessed One connect it with inverted views, saying that it should be regarded as suffering? That is because even though it is clearly suffering, it is grasped as happiness by children, so in order to connect it with correct knowledge, it is said that it should be regarded as suffering. If the feeling of happiness exists by its very nature, then the thought that only happiness is happiness is not correct knowledge, nor is the inverted perception that suffering is happiness. In short, the sutra says that there is no feeling of happiness, that is how it is. Those who indulge excessively mean that indulging excessively at that time will become the cause of suffering. Untimely indulgence refers to when it is not digested. Drinks and food, etc., when enjoyed at the right time and in the right amount, are the cause of happiness, but if indulged in excessively and at the wrong time, they will also become the cause of suffering. Increasing the cause of happiness

It is also unreasonable to generate suffering at that very time, because it has not been seen that the cause of suffering increases and generates happiness. It is also unreasonable to generate suffering at that time because the cause of happiness diminishes, because what is accompanied by beating will never become the cause of happiness. The meaning of "from the very beginning" is that those things such as food, etc., should be known to be the cause of suffering only from the very beginning of consumption, and not the cause of happiness. If those things are the cause of suffering from the very beginning, why don't you feel suffering in the beginning as you do in the end? Therefore, it is said that "entering is merely that the suffering increases and becomes clear." It should also be said similarly regarding the differences in behavior, that excessive indulgence and untimely indulgence, etc., will also become causes of suffering, and this should also be said regarding bedding, etc. The meaning of "the antidote to suffering" is that when one is tormented by the suffering arising from hunger and thirst, at that time, the antidotes to suffering such as food and drink, etc., will become thoughts of happiness, but not otherwise. Therefore, it should be determined that only the cessation of suffering will become a thought of happiness, but happiness does not exist. Children generate thoughts of happiness towards the differences of suffering, and therefore it is said, "For example, from the shoulder." For example, just as a tired person feels relief by shifting the burden from one shoulder to the other, similarly, all these are suffering, and they will cause suffering to the world. Therefore, children generate thoughts of happiness towards the cessation of suffering, but the word happiness does not actually exist. The Abhidharma masters say that it does exist. The meaning of "this is reasonable" is to agree with the view of the Abhidharma master. One will not be respectful with words alone, so the question is "by doing what." Because the causes of the arising of suffering and happiness are different, suffering arises from the imbalance of the elements, and happiness arises from the balance of the elements.
