Because it possesses everything in the same way. Sleep is because the mind's companion, in the desire realm, possesses everything in the same way as all actions. Therefore, the statement "whatsoever" arises: whatever pervasive dharma, whatever near affliction, possessing the same as whatever affliction is abandoned by seeing the truth, is abandoned by seeing that truth, and not abandoned by others. Because it possesses only ignorance, it means it possesses only the ignorance that is abandoned by cultivation. What reason is there for saying that those who possess only ignorance are autonomous? Because when they enter, they themselves are the main ones, and do not depend on other afflictions. Ignorance enters because of foolishness, it is not originally like this, and the six defilements of affliction are also the same, meaning those that are abandoned by cultivation and are autonomous, just like the five near afflictions such as jealousy. In the statement "unwholesome in the desire realm," except for lethargy, agitation, and sleep, the seven pervasive ones and the six such as illusion are uniquely unwholesome in the desire realm. Lethargy, agitation, and sleep are unwholesome and indeterminate. If someone asks: Is there no good sleep? The answer is: Because this is the occasion of pervasiveness, it is not taken. The so-called "as appropriate" refers to how much of the remainder of the desire realm is extended. In the desire realm and the first dhyana, deception arises. Does deception only exist in the desire realm, and not in the first dhyana? Deception is deceiving others, but there is no trade there, so is there no deceiving others? This dispute is nonexistent, because besides trade, there are also cases of deceiving others. Therefore, it is said "in order to deceive Brahma," just like before. The so-called "deception has already been spoken of" refers to the statement "among them, regret, sleep, and unwholesomeness are not in the first dhyana," and the statement "except for deception, illusion, and flattery, anger, etc.," although it has already been said, it is only mentioned in passing, and the above is an explanation in passing of the statement "is indeterminate." The so-called "in the five" refers to
