The mind that thinks "What am I?" and "It is permanent," and "What is nonexistent?" is held as supreme. Others consider it to be discarded. Therefore, it is taught in order not to confuse. Regarding what is called "solely unwholesome" and "autonomous," shamelessness and recklessness, although both are solely unwholesome, are not autonomous. Regret is autonomous, but not solely unwholesome, because it is also wholesome. Others are neither. The ten of them, such as anger and concealment, are both in two forms, so they are called solely unwholesome and autonomous. Others, because they are very sharp and occur repeatedly, and are known to be weak, and are the cause of small enjoyment, therefore, just because of that, Kauśika gods and humans are those who are connected with jealousy and stinginess, so it is said. Therefore, jealousy and stinginess are connections that are separate from all entanglements, so it is answered. The final part is the desire realm. It is said that in terms of the three realms, the part is the final, and the final is inferior, because it is not completely equally established, and because there are unwholesome dharmas, and because there are destinies of bad migrations, and because there are suffering and unpleasantness, and because there are uninterrupted afflictions. The two do not transcend desire. It is said that if these are not abandoned, one will not transcend the desire realm. The three turn back. It is said that if the view of the collection of destructibles and so on are not abandoned, one will return to the desire realm again. These are in accordance with the final part. The gatekeeper and the follower and the dharma are in accordance, it is said that the gatekeeper prevents the occurrence of faults, or holds a stick and rope. Other followers of the gatekeeper, if faults arise due to carelessness, even if they go far away, they can turn back, just like here. The three then extensively explain "the end of sentient beings." The final part is twofold: from the realm, it is the desire realm. There

Among those with outflows are ordinary beings. Among them, those who have attained the noble Dharma but do not transcend the lowest realm are those who possess attachment to desire and are accompanied by the bonds of malice. Even those who are free from attachment to desire and form do not transcend being ordinary beings, and those who rely on the lowest realm of desire and sentient beings are those who possess the bonds of the view of the aggregates, holding to precepts and vows as supreme, and doubt. The five that correspond to the lowest category have been explained. Because the three bonds have been completely severed, namely the bonds of views, holding to views as supreme, and doubt. Completely severed means without remainder. If six afflictions are abandoned, namely the five views and doubt, that is, the three, the view of the aggregates, the extreme view, and wrong view, are the bonds of views, and the two holdings to views as supreme are the bonds of holding to views as supreme. Why abandon the three views? That is, the extreme view, wrong view, and holding to views as supreme. Only three are mentioned, namely the view of the aggregates, holding to precepts and vows as supreme, and doubt. Why not further inquire about the purity of desire and so on? Because it is said that they are completely severed, and completely severed means without remainder, therefore there is no inquiry about those desires and so on that are abandoned through cultivation, as they are not exhausted. Although all those should be mentioned, namely the three views. Afflictions are of three types, namely those that are abandoned by seeing, in relation to what is to be abandoned by seeing. One type is the view of the aggregates, the extreme view, and the attachment to them, such as desire. Two types are holding to precepts and vows as supreme, and the attachment to them, such as desire. Four types are wrong view, holding to views as supreme, doubt, and the attachment to them, such as desire. The doors of those are encompassed by these three, the door of one type is encompassed by the view of the aggregates.
