If asked: Is it not? It is not. Because even without it, it exists. Because beings born in the realms of form and formlessness, even without coarse food, follow their own kind. Similarly, those who have entered into the cessation attainment and the non-perception attainment, and those who have realized non-perception, even without contact, thought, and consciousness, it is seen that they follow their own kind, but it is not so without the life faculty. Therefore, because it dominates abiding in the same kind, only the life faculty is the faculty, and not food. Feelings have the power to completely afflict, which will arise. Explanation: If asked: What is the difference from the former? Answer: In order to refute that happiness and so on can also dominate purification. Only that which particularly dominates is domination, merely being a cause is not. Feelings particularly dominate complete affliction, but not purification. Therefore, these only dominate complete affliction. In order to show this, as it is said in the sutra, the feeling of happiness increases desire, etc., which is said from the perspective of the object and association. Regarding the five faculties of faith and so on, because they purify, they are purification, that is, the path. Regarding this, the cause is stated, such as "these" etc. will appear in detail, with the state of mindfulness and warmth, they can also suppress the afflictions that are obstacles to the arising of the path, and without an equal cause, the path arises by its power, therefore, the state of supreme Dharma can also lead the path. Only these dominate purification, because they are the nature of purification, so in order to ascertain that the all-knowing faculty and so on are not, it is also said. The word "thus" is like the eye and so on up to the ultimate of faith and so on, each is a faculty, so the all-knowing and so on, the all-knowing and having all-knowing are also each.

It is for the sake of closely showing that it is independent. If it is known as each independent by the very different functions, then? In order to dispel the doubt that arises from the non-difference of things, the word "thus" is extremely added. Among them, the faculty of accomplishing omniscience functions to obtain the faculty of omniscience, because the path of meditation is preceded by the path of seeing. Those are also for the sake of establishing the path of seeing and the path of meditation. The faculty of omniscience functions to obtain the faculty of having omniscience, because the path of no more learning is preceded by the path of meditation. The faculty of having omniscience functions on complete nirvana, because there is no other path. Nirvana here refers to the absence of remaining aggregates. Do the first two faculties not function on nirvana? It is for that very reason. It is said that because the mind is not liberated, there is no complete nirvana. The liberation of the mind is the knowledge of exhaustion. All the uncontaminated paths of that and after that are the faculty of having omniscience, therefore the faculty of having omniscience functions on complete nirvana. The word "etc." is for the sake of showing other categories, and it will be explained in detail that the first two faculties are encompassed by seeing and meditation, therefore they function in order to abandon the afflictions to be abandoned by seeing and meditation in sequence.

It is said that it is for experiencing joy and happiness from liberation, and for experiencing each individually and truly. Liberation is the abandonment of afflictions. Joy is mental happiness. Happiness is the happiness of extreme subdual. Experiencing joy and happiness individually and truly from liberation is experiencing joy and happiness individually and truly from liberation. Because it is able to be independent, it is the independent one. It needs to be supplemented by ignorance, etc. Why? Saying "should be done" is the remainder of the sentence. Supplementing is supplementing. Speaking of what is not expressed when the expression of nature is obtained is supplementing. By saying "etc.", it includes formations, etc. Saying speech, etc., as well as hands, feet, buttocks, and genitals. The Samkhyas consider the root of speech, etc., to be different from the roots of the eyes, etc. Their root is for speaking words. The root of the hand is for taking something. The root of the foot is for walking, which means walking. The root of the buttocks is for excreting feces. The root of the genitals is different from the part of the body's root, which is used to obtain the difference of happiness of universal joy. It should not be supplemented, because the Blessed One, in order to know what meaning, said in the sutra that the roots are twenty-two, for that, because ignorance, etc., and speech, etc., are not needed. What is that meaning? Therefore, The support and difference of the mind are explained in detail. The support of the mind that has become self is its support. The difference of that support is male and female. The place is continuous following. The collection of complete afflictions and purification, and purification is only of the self of the mind. Those six places are the basis of the substance of sentient beings, which is said to be the first and main. The substance of sentient beings is because it is uniquely counted as the number of minds. Their support has form, etc., and their consciousness is the substance of sentient beings, but others are not.
