It appears as dust. Therefore, the self does not touch everything. If it is said, "Or if one part touches," if some touch and some do not touch, then it will become a fault of having parts. If it is said that it does not touch, then it has the nature of touching, and it is seen that sound arises from obstruction. The question is, how is it, etc.? If it is said that it is not the whole self, nor is it one part, because they do not touch each other and there is no obstruction, then how can sound be established? The Kashmiris say, "Because of that reason." Because the atoms do not touch each other, sound is established because of that reason. If it is said that they touch, just as a part is placed on a part, even if you hit your hand with your hand, it will merge and become one, so it is thought. Therefore, the nature of having obstruction will be destroyed, and if that is not there, because there is no obstruction, from where will sound arise? Because it is not momentary, it is not reasonable to be together, so it should not be promised that sound arises from being together like the eaters of crumbs. What is it then? Only those that come from the scriptures are named as being together or meeting. When some of the four great elements produce other attachments of the elements, whichever produces sound and obtains the name of adhesion and meeting, and the sound that arises together with it, why is it not observed here? How to accumulate, etc., is explained in detail. What is accumulated? Clods of earth, bricks, etc. Because the atoms of those do not adhere to each other, how can they not be destroyed when they are struck, just like a collection of sand? If it is said, "Because it is held by the wind element," if the objects struck by the wind element are also the cause of separation, the Vaibhashikas say that this is not certain. Some wind elements that arise from the karma of sentient beings tend to destruction, like the time of destruction. Some tend to hold, like the time of arising. Likewise, it will change in other ways as well. If the atoms do not touch each other, then how do they adhere and meet, etc., is explained in detail.

It occurs, and it is unreasonable for things to gather without touching each other. Among these, "not even a little" is called a vast manifestation, which is a form different from manifestations and the like. Also, "also" means "another." "No fault" means whether the whole itself touches, or a part touches, whichever statement is about fault. Others say that what is said about touching when gathering is without fault. After doing that, if the gathered things touch each other. "What is the cause of contact" means that whatever exists with contact as its cause is the cause of contact. "Does contact arise" means what is touched by another. "Non-contact cause" means what exists with contact as its cause, thus combining the words. The extremely small particles do not touch each other, so they are non-contact. "For the sake of cause" means that whether it is contact or non-contact, whatever is the cause of something is its cause, said for the sake of cause. "Sometimes" is called a vast manifestation, when accumulated things become the state of extremely small particles, then non-contact caused by contact arises. Sometimes it is non-contact caused by non-contact, etc., when extremely small particles do not become accumulated, then it is contact caused by non-contact, like snow. It falls from above without contact, and becomes contact when it falls on the ground. Sometimes contact caused by contact arises, when the accumulation with accumulation, that is, when the gathered things gather, then contact caused by contact arises, like two mud balls gathering. Sometimes non-contact caused by non-contact arises, like dust in sunlight.

It is because of mutual contact. It is not momentary either, therefore it does not touch because it ceases at the time of contact. The venerable one says that there is no contact, but it is merely perceived as touching what adheres. If asked, what is the difference between this and the Vaibhashika school? This does not only not accept mere form, but also does not accept space in between. The Sutra Master says, "One should approve of the venerable one's school." This is said by the commentator. Master Dusang says, "One should neither approve of the venerable one's school, nor should one oppose it." What then should one do? One should examine it. If there is no gap at all between these, then it will become part or become one, because one cannot escape the previous fault, how can one approve of the venerable one's school? Here, the commentator says that the reason for approving of the venerable one's school is that if it is not so, etc., if one accepts space in the gaps of atoms other than the venerable one's school. The so-called "in the empty spaces" refers to places that are not blocked by other forms. Obstructing movement is obstruction, because it is unreasonable in the empty spaces of atoms, so the obstruction itself will disappear. Again, some say that aggregates are touched because they have parts. In response, it is said that just as the Vaibhashikas say, "Parts are the components of limbs," the accumulation of atoms is not something else either. What then is it? It is merely the accumulation of those atoms. It is said to be contact, such as being able to become form. Atoms mutually Those that depend on each other can become form. Because there is none, it is not an aggregate. Similarly, only the accumulation of atoms can touch, not aggregates, because there is no difference between the function of aggregates and atoms. Therefore, the fault of mixing from atoms and having parts remains. If one says that if one direction touches, then it will become part, the explanation is that if one thinks that atoms have different directions, it will be explained in detail. Direction part
