It is not contradictory to have attachment to things that are small, obstructed, or far away, because results arise from the difference in effort. Similarly, sound should also be spoken of in this way. If it is indeed contact with the object, then there would be no difference between gods and non-gods, and therefore effort would become meaningless. If the eye does not come into contact with the object, then why are things that are far away and obstructed in between not seen? The answer is: it is due to the difference in ability, like a magnet. A magnet can attract iron without contact, but it cannot attract everything that is obstructed, far away, or not facing towards manifestation. Similarly, although the eye does not come into contact with the object, it is not that everything without contact is seen. Even if it is indeed contact with the object, then this fault is the same, explaining: why is eye medicine needed? This is a detailed explanation, eye medicine or eye surgery is contact but not seen. Just like the nose and so on, due to different abilities, contact is the object, but not all are. If not all, what is the reason? It is mentioned that "because it does not cling to innate smells," the innate smells, tastes, and tactile sensations that arise together with the sense organs such as the nose, even if they are in contact, the nose and so on will not cling to them, that's how it is. Regarding "mind is not form," contact is what arises by mutually clinging to each other, and because it exists in the object, only things with form are like this, but mind is not form, so it does not abide in the object, therefore it is unable to contact its own object. Regarding "also in the ear," the word "also" indicates that even from a very far place one can hear, so it is thought that the ear is not in contact with the object. Some heretics say: because sound enters in a continuous manner, the ear understands through sequence, so the ear must be in contact with the object. But that is not the case, because holding a bell in the hand, as soon as the bell sound stops, the sound is not heard. Even so, who can prevent the sound that comes from the middle in the manner of water waves from being grasped? Therefore, only the sound that exists in the object of the bell can be grasped, not the sound that travels to the ear in the manner of water waves. Where did the dragon's son go?

It is not. The third is the word "elsewhere." Saying "elsewhere" is to ensure that it does indeed encounter the object. If it is thought that it encounters or does not encounter the object, then it should be said "elsewhere" and "not elsewhere." How does the nose encounter the object? The reason this question arises is that the basis of smell, such as flowers, can perceive far away. But taste and touch are not like that. Because it cannot be perceived without inhaling. That is, when inhaling, does the wind contaminated by the fragrant flower, when it comes into contact with the sensory faculty of the nose, give rise to the perception of smell? Or, does the smell guided by the main source of smell, when it comes into contact with the sensory faculty of the nose, give rise to the perception of smell? Because there is no guidance, when not inhaling, there is no contact between the smell and the sensory faculty, so the nose must be encountering the object. If it is not encountering the object, then like the eyes and ears, there is no difference between inhaling and not inhaling. Some people think that the word "encounter" with this double meaning means different things, like what the Vaisheshika school thinks. Therefore, the question "what is encounter" is asked. The answer is "occurring in contact." In this way, it will be understood that there is no other encounter except for occurring in contact. And about occurring in contact, some people think that it is merely the offering of form excluding the space element, while others think that it is the offering of all forms. Next, the question "what are atoms" is elaborated. If they touch each other, then they will become part-containing, and if they are partless, then like mind and mental factors, there is no contact. If they do not touch, then the statement "the three encounter the object" is contradictory, because not touching is not encountering. Here, it refers to the atoms of matter, not the aggregated atoms, because the latter are part-containing. Mixing means that the object becomes undifferentiated, meaning that its entity no longer exists.
