It will not become blind. All blind people without eyes, because they have eye consciousness, should not be unable to see, so it is said. By the way, the discussion of sufficient situations should be started. This is only one aspect, because of the fear of too much content, so there is no detailed analysis, but directly started. If consciousness can see, then those who say this are the Particularists. If consciousness can see, then because there is no obstruction to walls etc., just like offerings, when one can also see the form that is blocked by walls etc., the blocking is not because of seeing, therefore, by what is the blocking not seen? It is not the nature of seeing, there is no other reason. In that case, because one cannot see the blocked form, consciousness is not the nature of seeing, and because it is not the nature of seeing, one cannot see what is not blocked either. Although the eye is the nature of seeing, because it is obstructed by the middle barrier, it cannot see the form that is blocked in the middle, and there is no contradiction in seeing what is not blocked in the middle because there is no obstruction. For obscuration, eye consciousness does not arise, this is a detailed explanation. It is not because it is not the nature of seeing that one cannot see obscuration, it is not like that. Then what is it? Because it has not arisen, one cannot see. Why does it not arise? This is a detailed explanation. Consciousness only acts on the object, not the eye, it only acts on the eye consciousness, and the eye has no obstruction. Therefore, if there is an object and a sense faculty, why does consciousness not arise? According to whose view, the eye sees and consciousness knows, in that case, consciousness and the dependent eye enter the same object together. The form that the eye sees, consciousness also knows. Therefore, it enters the object together with the dependent, and the eye is also obstructed, so it cannot enter the blocked form, and cannot see, therefore, consciousness may also not arise. The eye is also like the root of the body, this is a detailed explanation. If it is in contact with the object like the root of the body and the tangible, then one cannot see the barrier.

It is accomplished. Because it is obstructive, it is separated by obstruction, and because it does not encounter the object, it is said to be non-contact. If this is reasoned, then the eye faculty, like the mind, is because it has an object that does not encounter, so it is not possible to do even a little bit of separation. Then how can the obstructed form not be seen? "Plums and tribulus and crystal and water, etc." are spoken of extensively. If the eye, because it is obstructive, like the body faculty, does not allow its own object to be separated by the same, etc., then the separation by plums and tribulus, etc., will also not allow separation in the same way. If so, the separation by plums, etc., can also be seen. Therefore, being obstructive itself is not the cause. Then what is it? "If there is no obstacle to what appears" is said, because it is the co-actor of the appearance of the eye, for what appears to tribulus, etc., if there is no obstacle, even if it obscures the form, the consciousness of the eye will still arise, so it can see the color separated by it, and where there is an obstacle in walls, etc., then the consciousness of the eye will not arise for the color separated by it, because there is no cause for the co-actor. Therefore, because it does not arise, what is obscured by walls, etc., cannot be seen. Then what is said in the sutra shows a contradiction with the teachings. If consciousness can see, then it would be said, "The consciousness of the eye sees all forms," if it were said like this, after the eye sees all forms, it would not grasp the characteristics, it would not grasp the secondary characteristics, this is spoken of extensively, therefore, it must be that only the eye can see, and not consciousness. That is not so, because the teachings have a hidden meaning. Also, what is the hidden meaning here? The hidden meaning here is "relying on it," this is to say, relying on the eye, consciousness sees all forms, that is the meaning. How do you know that relying on it, consciousness can see, and not only the eye? Therefore, for example, the mind can distinguish all dharmas.
