and their characteristics, and collects the co-emergent attainments of the subtle categories. Their attainment refers to the collection of those that arise earlier and those that arise later. Accompanied and combined refers to the characteristics that accompany them and correspond to the subsequent attainment. Among them, the consciousness that corresponds to the eighty-eight subtle categories is the mind realm and the consciousness realm. The remaining corresponding, those that are together with the subtle categories and those that are not together, are the dharma realm. These three realms are to be abandoned by seeing. The remaining with outflows are to be abandoned by meditation, these statements will arise. The unseen and without outflows are not to be abandoned, this refers to the truth of the path and the three realms included by the unconditioned. Those without fault should not be abandoned, and the dharma without outflows is also without fault. The nature of ordinary beings and so on are explained in detail. Some say that because the nature of ordinary beings, as well as the body and speech of evil destinies, are also contrary to the noble path, like the view of the perishable collection and the view of clinging to extremes, they are to be abandoned by seeing. In this way, when the first moment of the path arises, one obtains the non-possession of the nature of ordinary beings, and it is also said that those who have entered the stream are of the nature of not falling back. If this is said, without abandoning the body and speech of evil destinies, it should not be said that evil destinies are exhausted. Therefore, the eighty-eight subtle categories and the arising together with them are said to be very few. A response should be made to this, the nature of ordinary beings, as well as the body and speech of evil destinies, are not to be abandoned by seeing. Why? Therefore, the summary is stated, which is these. Not afflicted nor seen, this shows that the nature of ordinary beings is not to be abandoned. Not form, this shows that although it is afflicted, the body and speech of evil destinies are not to be abandoned by seeing.

Therefore, it is shown as such. The so-called "not six, not born" means that although it is afflicted, it is not abandoned by seeing. If it is said that the ten are abandoned by meditation, and the five are also abandoned, why is it said again, "not form, not six, not born"? It is for the sake of certainty. The last three are the three kinds. As it is said, that which is not afflicted is not abandoned by seeing; although it is afflicted, the form that is not revealing is also not abandoned by seeing; although it is afflicted, that which is not born from the six, such as feeling, is also not abandoned by seeing, this is for certainty. Therefore, that which is not afflicted has no abandonment by seeing at all, and it is not form either. The so-called nature of ordinary beings is that which has not been shown to be non-afflicted, which means not obscured and not shown. That which is the basis of all unwholesome dharmas should not be non-afflicted, and for the sake of eliminating such wrong discriminations, the "complete cutting off of the roots of virtue" and so on are explained extensively. If that were virtuous, then those who have cut off the roots of virtue should not be ordinary beings, because it is virtuous, and because it has been cut off, it should become a noble one, but this is not desired, therefore it is not virtuous. It is also not afflicted, because saying afflicted is explicitly saying unwholesome. As it will be shown, it is also not unwholesome, because those who are free from desire also have it, because those who are free from worldly desire also have the nature of ordinary beings. If it were unwholesome, then just as the Satipa sect abandons afflictions, its own nature should also be abandoned, but the nature of ordinary beings is not what is desired to be abandoned. So what is it? It means abandoning the desire and attachment that are aimed at it. The nature of ordinary beings is not afflicted, therefore it is not abandoned by seeing. The actions of body and speech are form.
