It is not, because the second consciousness such as eye consciousness does not exist. The third case is when one dies and transmigrates from the formless realm and is born in the desire realm and the first dhyana, etc., then one obtains what is not associated with the form realm and is associated with it, and is also the realm of eye consciousness. The fourth case is when one is born in the formless realm, dies and transmigrates from there, and is born in the same place, and those who are born in the desire realm and the first dhyana, die and transmigrate from there, and are born in those same places. If one possesses the realm of eye consciousness, does one also possess the form realm? Here, too, it is connected with the previous words. Whoever possesses the realm of eye consciousness also possesses the form realm, that is, when one is born in the desire realm and the first dhyana, and when one is born in the second dhyana, etc., eye consciousness manifests. There are also those who only possess the form realm and not the consciousness realm, that is, when one is born in the second dhyana, etc., eye consciousness does not manifest. Regarding the so-called "twelve internal sources," how should this be understood? Are only the twelve sources internal? Or are only the twelve sources internal? Both cases should be definitely understood, because the very act of definitely understanding establishes that others are called external. Merely showing the number does not lead to special understanding, therefore the question is asked, "Which twelve?" In order to specifically distinguish, it is said, "Except for form, etc." If it is under my control, then it is internal, the very internal is internal. If there is no self, then the internal or external will change. If there is no discipline, will one not learn higher discipline? The answer is that because the mind is the basis of clinging to self, it will be explained in detail, saying that those who speak of self call the basis of clinging to self as self, such as the Samkhyas, etc., consider clinging to self as a quality of self, or consider it as an object of self. Clinging to self also depends on the mind, and this is also because there is no self of conceptualization, one should analyze in detail the self of a person. Because pride in self is established in this, only the mind is the self, and whatever arises from the mind is also mind.

Depending on this, one clings to the mind alone as the self. Here, how is the statement "manifesting the mind as the self" understood? Therefore, "The wise ones themselves are extremely..." will be explained in detail. This also relies on other scriptures and is the source of that very meaning, to show that it is not arbitrary, the Blessed One spoke in detail of "from others," from which it is said, "Subduing the mind leads to happiness," so it should be known that here the word 'self' manifests only as the mind. Therefore, "The eye and so forth are the mind becoming the self..." will be explained in detail, becoming the self is similar to the self. The so-called "object of support" is the support because it is similar to the support. Regarding "for the sake of dwelling nearby," among the eye and so forth, what is it that the form and so forth do not have, so that the mind is not an object of support that does not dwell in the realm? What is the difference, that the mind will follow the change? Because of following the change, although those consciousnesses do not dwell in the realm, they only appear as the eye and so forth, but not as the form and so forth, for example, the consciousness that corresponds to the feeling of pleasure or pain is completely cut off from the realm of the body, but not from the realm of the realm of form and so forth. Therefore, from this difference, the eye and so forth, and the form and so forth, although there is no difference in the cause of generating consciousness, they are established as the support and the realm, and therefore they are also internal and external. If the eye and so forth are the object of support of consciousness, then the six realms of consciousness and so forth will be explained in detail. The so-called "those that have not become the mind realm itself" means that the six have not obtained the immediately past stage. The present or future is not the support of the mind, because "the six that have just passed, whatever consciousness is, that is the mind," because at that time it is established as the mind realm itself. Regarding "whenever also," whether it is past or present, the realm of eye consciousness
