It should be done like this. Those with investigation and analysis are the five consciousness realms. As it is said, the word "is" is the meaning of definite holding, meaning only those with investigation and analysis. Therefore, it is said, "These are constant," and so on. Furthermore, why are these always associated with investigation and analysis? It is because these are coarse due to looking outward, and they exist in the position of investigation, analysis, and following. The last three are three types. As it is said, how should one definitely hold this? One should definitely hold that only the last three are three types. Because it is the last, it is the final. For those who are not complete, because there is no investigation, analysis, and association, it is impossible to have those with investigation and analysis. Therefore, it is said, "Dharma realm," and so on. Saying that the Dharma realm is associated would be a fault for both investigation and analysis, and there is no second investigation and analysis for them, so it is impossible to have those with investigation and analysis. Therefore, it is said, "Other than those with investigation and analysis." Because there is no investigation and analysis above the first dhyana, and because there is no examination above the excellent dhyana, and because the other realms are also the third realm, it is said, "In the desire realm and the first dhyana," meaning in the desire realm and the first dhyana, what is not associated with investigation and analysis? There is no aspect of mind or mental factors that is without investigation and analysis. Because excellent dhyana also exists above the absence of investigation and analysis, it is said that excellent dhyana is only with examination, meaning it is only associated with examination and not with investigation, which is the concluding statement. Starting from the second dhyana, because there is no investigation and analysis above the excellent dhyana, there is no association. All those that are not associated with the Dharma realm are not both. Saying "all" is to gather conditioned and unconditioned phenomena, and to gather the ground. Excellent dhyana

The so-called "that's examination" refers to the fact that there is no conception, and there is no second examination. It seeks those things that have neither conception nor examination. The so-called "conception" refers to the fact that there is no second conception, and because it corresponds to examination, there is always no conception but only examination. Because it corresponds to examination, it is with examination. The so-called "does the examination of the desire realm and the first dhyana not include these three types?" refers to being included in having conception and examination, having no conception but only examination, and having neither conception nor examination. How so? For the time being, the so-called "having conception and examination" is not included in the first type, because there is no second examination. It is also impossible to have "no conception but only examination," because in the desire realm and the first dhyana, conception arises simultaneously, and there is no second examination. It is also impossible to have "neither conception nor examination," because it corresponds to conception. The so-called "how should that be said" refers to the examination of the ground of the desire realm and the first dhyana. Therefore, it is said that "there is no examination but only conception," because there is no second examination, and it corresponds to conception. The so-called "therefore" refers to the fact that because that examination is not included in these three types, it is classified differently. The so-called "from the ground of having conception and examination" broadly refers to the desire realm and the first dhyana. The first type is because it corresponds to conception and examination. The second type is because it corresponds to examination, and there is no second conception. The third type is because it is not corresponding itself. The fourth type is because it corresponds to conception, and there is no second examination. "The rest abandon both," which means how to determine? It refers to the rest abandoning both. Because it does not correspond to those two, conception and examination are abandoned.
