The reason for distinguishing is to know that those which are not different in the nature of form, each is the birthplace. What is that difference? It is name. If, because it is the nature of form, all ten places are called the birthplace of form, then name and so on, and form and so on, will not be understood as objects and subjects respectively. Because of not understanding this, it will not be known that they are each the birthplace. Therefore, it will become three birthplaces. For this purpose, even if there is no difference in the nature of form, if one is said to be the birthplace of form, then sound and so on will be said to be the birthplace of other names. For form, in order to distinguish other birthplaces, no other name is added, because just like function, only the common name of form can distinguish it from other things, so adding a special name is meaningless. Precisely because of this, it is said in detail "those distinguished by the eyes, etc.", like a cow without a mark. Or, because only the birthplace of form is the main one, the common name of form is shown, although it is the nature of form, the others are not, because they are not the main ones. In order to show the main one through the others, it is said in detail "because that is with obstacles". If, because it is not touchable, how can the birthplace of form be touched by the collection of hands, etc.? It cannot be said to touch that itself. However, when those arising things that depend on it change due to being touched by the collection of hands, etc., if it can become form, then when it is touched by something that can become form, it is called able to become form, because one's own dependence, accomplishment, and happiness are one. Moreover, that is also because it has obstacles, so it is touched by the collection of hands, etc. If touched by relationships, that is, when touched, it can become form and can be destroyed. "This is here" refers to a place that can be observed nearby. "Something is there" refers to a place that can be observed far away. Therefore, if so, because it can become form and can be observed.

Because it is easy to observe, the source of form is the main one. Because others are not easy to observe, they are not the main ones. Because the eye and so on can be measured by matter, that's why they are here. It is not possible to actually observe that it is in a certain place. The sources of smell, taste, and touch are perceived only after contact, so it is impossible to completely determine that they are in a certain place. The source of sound can only determine the direction, but cannot determine the location. The world also calls it form, not other sounds, etc. The Dharma taught by the Blessed One is also for the purpose of declaring it to the world, so the Sutra masters and others only classify sound and so on as form. Because of individual reasons, one of them is said to be the source of Dharma, but not all of them. In any case, the object and the object-holder are widely applied. The eye and so on are distinguished and given a general term, but not others. Regarding the term "many dharmas", only many things named dharmas are included here, such as the limbs of Dharma-distinguishing perfect enlightenment, wisdom, recollection, faith, mindfulness, individual correct knowledge, refuge, the Three Jewels, and so on. The "many dharmas such as feeling" mentioned here include feeling, perception, action, as well as the unconditioned and the non-cognitive. Because there is no general term for Dharma, how can they be understood? Therefore, by saying the general term, many dharmas are included, just like the aggregate of action. Regarding the detailed explanation of the term "the excellence of Dharma", Nirvana is excellent because it is good and constant, or because suffering and its causes are all pacified. Similarly, there are explanations from "which dharmas" to "the excellence of detachment from these dharmas." Therefore, it shows that the source of Dharma is the main one. Others say, because the twenty aspects are coarse, how is it
