Arising is close because it is without interruption. Therefore, since it is a definite object, those objects are mentioned earlier. The mind is an indefinite object, called this, therefore the eyes and so on are pure, so it is mentioned later. The mind, some of its objects are present, some are in the three times and non-time, called this, what is said in the middle is the past object, the future object, the present object, the object that includes the three times, the non-time object, and the object that includes the three times and non-time. Some of them are present objects, such as knowing the minds of others. Some are past objects, such as the wisdom of remembering past lives. Some are future objects, such as the wisdom of wanting to manifest, or the wisdom of knowing death and birth. Some are objects of the three times, such as thinking that all dharmas are impermanent. Some are objects of no time, such as focusing on cessation. Some are objects of the three times and non-time, such as thinking that all dharmas are selfless, therefore the mind is indefinite, so it is said later. "Four because of the meaning of transformation from arising," called this, is from the eyes and so on up to the tongue root, because it is the object of form, shape, sound, smell, and taste that are the cause. The object of the body is uncertain. Called this, sometimes it is the elements, that is, when touching hardness and so on. Sometimes it is transformed from arising, that is, when touching softness and so on. Sometimes it is both, that is, arising and transforming from arising, when various consciousnesses of the body arise with an object. Therefore, the definite object is first, and the indefinite object is later. The remainder is as appropriate, called this, as appropriate, the two of the eyes and so on are two, one is three, and one is one, so it is said earlier, the eyes and ears are far away, so the two are said earlier. Among those two, called this, among the two of eyes and ears, the eye is the farthest and can see.

Therefore, not only with two, but also with three, it was previously explained. Precisely because of this, even if a river is seen from a distance, its sound cannot be heard, so it was said. The nose, in order to enter more quickly, was previously explained with one. If asked, how is it explained? The answer is: because it smells the odor of food even before it touches the tongue. If only the nose can smell the odor based on a lump of food that is not in contact, then the very fact that the nose can smell after contact would be harmed, if asked like that. That is not the case, because the liquid mixed with the food quickly reaches the realm of the nose. Because it is of the same kind as it, the odor that relies on the liquid is called the odor of food. Or, for the question of "how is the order of abiding," although the three abide like a rosary, whichever and whichever sense faculty's basis abides first, that one is explained first. Precisely because of this, it is extensively explained that "the basis of the eye abides first." The basis of the body abides below the basis of the tongue faculty. Because the body pervades everything, the body faculty can abide anywhere, but it is most abundant below. Precisely because of this, it is said "mostly," not that it does not abide above. If asked, where is the place of the mind faculty? Therefore, it is said, "The mind relies on them, and does not abide in the object," that is, the characteristics of the five aggregates of consciousness, and the characteristics of the aggregate of mind consciousness. All six of these are non-material, so they do not abide in the object. And why is it said again, it will be explained in detail. Only for those sense faculties and objects, they are called the twelve sources and the eighteen realms. There, the ten colored sources are said to be the nature of the form aggregate. There, without distinguishing the dharmas in detail, it is said that all sources are the nature of dharma. Therefore, "the meaning of difference" will be explained in detail. If, even if there is no difference in the nature of form, one is called the form source, but the others are not. Or, like the sound and other sources, why is another name not given to this one as well? What is the reason for this? Similarly, the "dharma source" should also be said, if asked, the answer is:
