If the form of earth also turns into dust, then according to what is said, "the nature of moving," there is no fault. The word "nature" here should be understood as function, not as its own essence, because its function arises from movement and produces results in other places. Therefore, it is explained, "The nature here is the manifestation of function." It can be explained like this: the function of moving and the nature of lightness are the wind element. Because it does not explain the earth and other self-produced ones, it is actually equivalent to saying that earth and others are different from those produced. Therefore, the question is "earth and others," etc., which appears widely. It should be said, "from color and shape." Having form, smell, and taste is earth, but if it is like thinking of dust, it is not, because they cannot show the earth that is different from the collection of form, etc., just like malt juice and drinks, etc. If the word "earth" is used to refer to the collection, and it has smell, taste, and touch, then should it be said that the reason is only color and shape? Isn't it said like this in worldly terms? What is praised in the world can be examined, and when showing earth in the world, it shows color and shape. Saying "like this" means "for what reason." Saying "wind is the element of collection" is because wind has no color and shape. When saying "similar to that," just as in worldly terms, earth is spoken of in terms of color and shape, sometimes worldly terms are also acknowledged, and it is also said to be wind. The collection of winds is wind. For those whose own essences are different from each other, because the reason for using unrelated words is not understood, or because there is no definition that applies to everything, the question "why," etc., appears widely. The phrase "because it can become form" is the definition of form. In order to definitely understand "there is form, and it can become form," it is necessary to know that hands, etc.

Therefore, being touched by contact will transform, that is its meaning. "Susceptible to form" means "liable to be harmed." Its source is the colors mentioned in the category of meaning. An example of this is: "A sting will harm like a thorn." This is because the word "susceptible to form" is applied to the place of harm. If a sting causes harm, including sticks, etc., the suffering arising from being struck by a sting will cause harm; and in seeking harm, causing harm to the desire for feeling will also cause harm, which is illogical. Because form is not sentient, is there no suffering? Or because form is momentary, is there no time to cause harm? Then, what harm is there? Therefore, it is said "produces complete change," which is in terms of continuity, not in terms of momentariness. Complete change is becoming another state. Dissimilar complete change is complete change, meaning producing a state dissimilar to the previous one. Others say that "susceptible to form" is obstruction, that is, an obstacle to the arising of other things in its own field. Then, for "atom," if "susceptible to form" is producing complete change and obstruction, then in either case, it will not become form, because it has no parts. Just as it cannot be seen, the body such as the hand cannot be touched by touch, etc., because it is neither complete change nor obstruction, that is their thought. This refers to the atom of substance, not the aggregate of atoms, because it is the eighth substance, so it is not contradictory to "susceptible to form." Therefore, it is said, "The single substance of an atom does not exist separately," because if desired, it will be determined that there are no senses, and "soundless subtle dust, there are eight substances," etc. That which exists in the aggregate is indeed "susceptible to form," that is, complete change or obstruction. Then, for the past and the future, not in the place

Because of abiding, it is not something that can be harmed, nor is it obstructed; it is thought to be not form. Moreover, "already existing in form" refers to the past. "Will exist in form" refers to the future, which has the nature of arising. "Of the same kind" refers to being of the same kind as that which already exists in form, meaning the dharma of non-arising, like firewood. For example, wood and so on, even if not currently burning, are called firewood. Whatever will burn and whatever will not burn, all of these are firewood because they are of the same kind, and it is the same here. If so, then non-manifest form will become non-form, because it is not of the same kind and is unobstructed. If this is said, then manifest form is also of the same kind as form, which is the cause, so it is itself of the same kind as form, because it arises from the great elements as the cause. Moreover, for manifest form, because it exists in form, it will exist in form, and so on. What causes it to arise completely is the manifest form of body and speech, the contact of the aggregates of hands and so on will transform, therefore non-manifest form will also exist in form, because it does not transform, so it is not so. While manifest form is transforming, non-manifest form will not become non-manifest form, because there is no difference. Just like this, when joining palms and becoming sound and so on, for non-manifest form, there is no difference. For a tree, the initial branches and so on are small and growing, the shadow is small and will grow, therefore when the tree moves, the shadow moving is not contradictory. Furthermore, just as when a tree leans, the shadow leans, when manifest form leans, non-manifest form will lean, if so, then it is not a transformation, because it does not follow its transformation. Others say that it is because the dependent arising exists in form. This is said by the earlier Vasubandhu, the form with blue and so on as the cause.
